The Honesdale (Pa.,) Democrat, the leading paper in Wayne county, gives in its adhesion cheerfully to the Philadelphia nominees. The Fremont and Dayton ratification meeting at Albany,l. Y. on Tuesday night, was a mag nificent display, and the largest held in the city ohne 1840. The list of officers was made up of an equal proportion of men of all parties, who have never before sated together politically, and many prominent democrats took part in it.— Speeches were made by Gen. Visit (dem.), B. H. Hammond, (American), Gen. B. M. Burroughs, (dem.), Gen. Bence, (Whig), end Mr. Beeman, a German democrat. The prospects in New York are very cheering. On Wednesday evening s Fremont and Day ton ratification meeting was held in the city of New York, which was a remarkable outpouring of the people. The Trues says: "Rarely has Nov York witnessed a more ge nial outburst of enthusiasm than that which at tended the Ratification of the nomination of Faun= and Bassos at the demonstration In the Broadway Tabernacle last evening. The call for the meeting vas issued only on Monday morning, but the response was overwhelming. Full ten thousand persons were pre sent daring the evening, and three meetings were in pro gress at one time—two distinct organizations having been effected outside of the building while the large meeting was searoMy half through • its progntmme. The enthusiasm woe unbound ed. The slightest referents to the names of the . candidates elicited shouts of approval, and the chorus of voices which joined in the singing of a rallying song made the walla of the Tabernacle tremble. The speakers were Judge Emmet of New York, Hon. Wm. Howard, Chairmen of the Kansas Investigating Committee ; Senator Tram ' bull, of Illinois, Attorney General Kimball of Ohio, and others. Alter the meetings lepers, tad, a grand procession was Ducted, which marched to the residence of Col. Fremont, in Ninth street. A brief and appropriate speech from Cot Fremont ended the evening, and the throng separated at • late hour. We do not re member to have witnessed a popular gathering more respectable for character and numbers, or which gave more eignficant indications of a net tled purpose and enthusiastic devotion to • great principle, than that which met on this oo casion tonicity the Republican nominations. Tan Republican Ratification meeting at the Tabernacle last evening was indeed a great and enthusiastic gathering of the people. We never eaw that edificemore densely crowded, and witnessed in any public assemblage more of that eporitaneotm magnetism which shows that the popular feeling Is roused to the electric point.— The cheers, prolonged, repeated and repeated, which beret forth at the name of Fremont, were of a sort not heard, in any of our recent political struggles. This Meeting added another to the many symptoms of the vast popular movement, now fully inaugurated; which Is to go on and gain in volume and its vitality till, in November next, the Border Ruffians and Buoheniere are swept out of political existence, arid the liberties of the country and the Union of the States are scoured forever by the triumph of Fremont and Dayton.—N.
