STATIONS nave been multiplied, each with its chapel and store tents.'free writing tables, and clothing, com forts and TP ad in K matter for gratuitous distribution. VOLUNTARY DELEGATES, in numbers greater than ever before, have been sent to preach the Gospel at tne stations and In regiments, batteries, and camps without Chaplains, distribute reading matter and stores, and labor for the good of the Soldier* . . A PERMANENT FIELD AGENCY has been sufficiently extended to establish atations and superintend the work. THE BLESSING OF GOD rests signally on all parts of the work. Many thousands have been el eered, bene fited and saved. Still a large part of the Army remains unreschedj and double the nuozLer, both of stations and delegates, are needed to meeMhe urgent demand for them. The Christian Commission offers to the people a per fectly reliable and wonderfully economical channel to reach tbe entire Army in all its various fields. The money given goes in full measure, in benefits for body and soul, directly to the Soldiers, and stores also, imme diately ft om the hands of deleiates from home, who add words and deeds of kindness to the gifts when bestowed. Let the people give the Money and Stores, and the Work will be done. x The large Corps of Delegates now in the field will serve as a grand corps of relief when the aimles shall move and battle:* be fought, and the 'greater their number the more prompt and effective will be the relief they shall render. Let not tbe present work languish. Wait not for the cry of the wounded and dying before providing relief. By far the larger portion of the money received on the occasion of the Fairs held for the benefit of the Sani tary Commission in Cincinnati, Boston, and Brooklyn, was derived from direct donations In CAS9, and not from the proceeds of the sale of articles exposed. What the Sanitary Commission needs to afford relief to the sick and mounded soldiers is money, in large amounts and from all sources. We call* then, upon all bankers, cor porations, capitalists, persons living upon incomes, pro fessional or otherwise; in short, upon all who will not be represented in the Fair by (heir productions, to imi tate tr>e example of those who will, and to contribute liberally in money for this great object. In New York, although their Fair is not to be held for two weeks, con tributions of more than $200,000 in cash ha re been already rectivtd, a single department of trade, that of dry gr ode, having made up more thau half that enm. Brooklyn and Cincinnati have each contributed as much In money, and certainly the wealth, liberality, and patriotism of Philadelphia can hardly be considered as less conspicuous than that of these communities. WHILE LABORING UNDER CONSUMPTION, AND HOW BIS PULMONIC SYRUP, SEA-WEED TONIC; AND MANDRftKE PILLS ACT ON THE SI STEM IN CURING THAT DISEASE. AND THE GREAT SUCCESS ATTENDING IT. New York. Wednesday, March SO, 1864. 'TO THB PUBLIC. Thirty years ago I was in the last stages of Poftnonary Gontumpilon* and given up to die 1 resided in Phila delphia. ano Dr. Joseph Parrish, then of'thls city, or dered me to Morestown, N. J., a distance of nine miles, which took me two d ays to get there On my arrival I was put to bed, and there laid for many weeks. This was my native place, where all my family lived aud had died of Consumption- Dr, Thornton, who attended my rather in his last illness, was called, and gave me one week to fix up mv affairs He had ;sean all my family go that way; and thought I war to go', too Then I heard of the remedies I now offer to the public, which cured me. It seemed to me that I could feel them pene trating my whole system. They soon ripentd the matter on my lungs, and I would spit off more than a mnt of offensive yeiiow mat* ter every morning. As coon as that began to subside, my congh, fever, pain, night sweats—all began to leave me. and my appetite became so great that It was with difficulty I could keep from eating too much. I Boon gamed my strength, and have been growing in flesh ever since. For many years I have enjoyeduninter rupted good health, keeping the iiaav and stomach healthy with the Seaweed Tonic aud Mandrake Pills. ai lam of a biiions temperament. My weight Is two hundred and twenty pounds On my recjvery people would send for me, far and near, to see if their cases were like mine. For this purpose I pay professional visits in the large cit es. The consumptives wish to see the one that makes these medicines, and who was cured of consumption by them. To make new lungs is impos sible; but cavities in the lungs and chronic ulcerations of the bronchial tubes can be healed. Such cases are dying hourly under the ordinary treatment of physi cians, ano just such are eared by the proper use of Schenck’s Pulmonic Syrap, Seaweed Tonic, and Man drake Pills. C. H. CLARK, President. 1 am now a healthy man, with a large cavity in the middle lobe of the right lung, the lower tube t ery much liepatized and complete adhesion of the pleura. The left long is sound, and the upper lobe of the right lung is in a tolerably healthy condition. The great reason why phyticians do not cu»e consumption is they try to do too much; they give medicines to stop the cough, to stop chill* to stop night sweats, hectic fever, and, by so doing, they derange the whole digestive powers, locking up the secrei ions, and eventually the patient sinks and dies. After I make a careful examination of the patient with the Reeplrometer* and ifind lungs enough left to cure, I direct the patient how to me the three remedies. I do not try to stop a couth.night sweats, chills or fever. Remove the cause, and they will all atop of their own accord. No one can be cored of consumption, liver com* f>lsint, dyspepsia. catarrh, canker, ulcerated throat, un ess the liver and stomach are madejhe<hy. In New England this canker* chronio catarrh, ulcerated throat, elongation of uvula, is naoie prevalent than in any other section of the cnnntry. \ This is frequently caused by a foul stomach. Ton may burn it out wiih caustic time and again, and all they will get is temporary relief. Correct the stomach and liver, and they will heal up themselves. Good nutrition is the remedy. If jouhave any dis eaie in any part of the body, it will remain there and decay more and more until yon can get the stomach in the condition to ditest food, and make new blood to ta* e the place of diseased matter. This is the only way to heal cavities in the lnngs and ulcerated bronchial tubes. Correct the. stomach and liver, and nature will do the healing. Many persons havuan idea that certain medi cines are great purifiers of the blood, When blood is once diseued It cannot be purified; it is diseased the tame as the diseased matter m the system; bat get the apparatus in order, the liver and stomach, and give it pjenty of nourishing food, it will make new blood, which will take the place ox that which is diseased. Schenck’s Pulmonic Syrup is one of the best prepara tions of iron in use; it is a powerful tonic of itself, and when the fie*-weed Tonic dissolves the mucus iu the sto mach, and it is carried off by the aid of the Mandrake Fills, the Pulmonic ayrup is made into blood This is the only way to cure consumption. If I cannot set a good sppetite, and ?ood does not digest, I cannot cure the patient. Never mind the cough; remove the cause and it will stop of itself. This is the most trouble I have with n y patients at my rooms. They say, “Doctor, I feel stronger; I can eat; my night sweats are better, and I feel better every way; but my cough Is so bad yet;” and they are astonished to hear me say that does not matter: remove the cause and the cough will stop of it self. Echenck'e Seaweed creates a good appetite in about nine days, when there-is no lung dlseatOi unless the liver is so congested that the Mandrake Fills cannrt un lock the ducts of the gall bladder in that short space of time, in order to allow the stale bile to pass off Keep the liver and stomach healthy and there is less danger of consumption or any other disease. It is hard to take cold when those organs are healthy, Those that are bili ous, low-spixited, dreary, feeling stupid, coated tongue, poor appetite, nervous, stomach fall of wind, every* thing that is eaten lies heavy, ioib of memory, try one bottle of SCHEDGK’S bBAWEBD TOOIC and one b?X of SGBENCK’S MAHuRAKd PILLS. Itls only a cost of one dollar and twent) * five cents, with full directions. This is sufficient, in many cases, to satisfy what the medicines aTe. Frequently one bottle makes a great change in the system. Any person that enjoys ordinary heslth. byusing the Seaweed Tonic and Mandrake Pills occasionally, must get the digestive organs in such a healthy condlti<n that they become fleshy. I can pro duce a number of my old cnnsumpiive patients now en joying good health, weighing near 2uo pounds. I will cone jure by relating three cures I have made in Now Yojk, and which are all different, and wish any one who feels any interest in the matter to visit them First is Mis. Farlow, residing then at No. 107 Houston street. Her husband called upon me at my rooms, 32 Rood itreeti and wished me to call and Bee her He said I could do no good; that he had bad all the best medical attendance* and all said she was too far gone with Con sumption to be cured; bnt she had heard of some great cures I had made, and he desired to gratify her wishes. I called, and found her lying confined to her bed in the last stage of bronchial- consumption, and without doubt must have died soon. I examined her lnngs, found both bronchial tubes 'very much affected, but no cavities had formed, her cough was very severe, the spit-box was half full of thick pas Palse 140, legs swollen very much; and worse than all, she had chro nic diarrhoea. Her bowels had been moved eleven times that day. I told her that she had lnngs enough to he cured, bnt that this diarrhoea bad been of long stand ing, and her stomach was in such an ulcerated condition that I wss afraid nothing could be done. She insisted I should try and do what I could for her. observing that she could not last long in the condition she was in, and I could not make her any worse. I gave her first a dose of my Mandrake Pills, and the tonic and Syrup freely. That was on Tneßday, and by the next Sunday the dlar* xhcea was carried off, her appetite had returned and she could sit up in bed and eat her dinner. She is now well, and save me a long certificate, certified to by the Rev. Dr. Bowllhgr _ _ •_ Mrs. Bartholomew, £3 West Forty-fifth street, came to my rooms.'wflb a tumor on her liver. She was low spirited, akiiraaliow, tongue coated, bowels costive, no appetite, and fast sinking into the grave. The said tumor bad been running over fourteen years I gave her Syrnp, Tonic and Pills, snd told her to take tnem just as the directions were primed. She came back to my rooms. 32 Bond street, in two weeks, somewhat bet ter; her tongue had begun to clean a little around the edges, her Skin whiter and her eyes brighter, and the tumor discharging very offensive matter, much faster than It had ever done before. She kept gradually Im proving. and in abou. two months she came to my rooms very much Brightened, saying that the tumor had nearly stopped running, and was healing-up,;and that every doctor had told her that if it ever healed It would cause her death. I told her that the disease had all left her system, and nature would heal the ulcer up They are now healed, and have been for about a year, and she is as hearty and robust a woman as you will find In a day's walk. She is glad for any one to call on her, and takes great pains to visit any one that she bests has anything like her ease, and tries to get them to come and eee mo. The next case is Mibb Bcofield, from Stamford, Conn Mrs. Bartholomew got her down to tee me, and she has been ever since at her house. When she first came to my rooms, she was much ema ciated with a distressing cough, spitting large quantities of blood. I examined her lungs with the respixometer, and in all my practice never found one with one lung so far gone and the other lung so sound. I could not give much encouragement, I thought she would die; but to my great astonishment tbe Fulmonic Syrup, Seaweed Tonic, and Mandrake Fl'ls all seemed to go right to work, the lung i* all healed over, leaving a cavity as large as a goose egg: good appetite, fine spirits, and has gained soire thirty five pounds in weight. She has snne cough yet, which Ido not think will leave her bsfore June. I should think it wonld be of great interest to Borne unpre judiced physician to visit these cases, particularly Mrs. Scofield, or any of them-who have been cared by my medicines. They are numerous in flew York; bat tbe above three all differ from each other; and if my medi cines are doirg whatl represent they are, they should should have the credit and the afflicted to know where end ho\f the, may be cored, j H , sqhsNCK.
