DAILY MOXNING POST. FRIDAY JANUARY AMo lit) a?t House at Last.—We havo great pleasure in stating to the fanners of .Washington county, that Messrs. S; B. Hays, Major Jacob Morgan and William Brownlee,’ Esq-, of this county, havo purchased and "tyill hare here early nest week, the celebrated " Colt nil ; Horse, & j pure-blooded, legitimately descended " Morgan, with all tho fine points of that unexcelled strain of horses. We are gratified in announomg. this fact.'from the consideration,;that we have.urged, by every argument within-our reach, the pro priety—nay absolute necessity, of introducing a finer stock of horses into our county. Wo stand No. 1 in tho sheep line, and there is no possiblo reason why wo should be behind all our neigh boring oountieß in the quality of our horses. Wo will hhnoeforth have something to boast of, as tho horso now' about to be introduced; to the no tion of our‘farmers, stands second, .perhaps, to, •y none in'tho United States, of his strain... We esteem the “Morgans’! tho best strain of horses, for all.purposes, now bred in this country. Their speed and endurance, as.well as , beauty of car riage, whether in harness, or under the saddlo, are among the high merits of this strain of horseß. This horse was Jiredby.ihe Hon. L. B. Peck, long a member of Congress from Vermont, and one of the most celebrated stock raisers in that State. — Washington Examiner. Apfectikq Fidblityofa Doo.—Tho body of David Jones, of Andover,-was found in a clump of woods near tho line, between Lawrence and that town. The deceased, on the Wednesdoy previous to the great snow Btorm, went to Lawrence to procure some provisions. On his way back, it.is supposed ho became bewildered in the storm, wan* derod from tho road, and died from exhaustion. His dog was with him andseveral days after his death attracted tho attention of some men who were breaking out the road* and who, following the dog into tho woods, fouud the body of Mr. Jones.- The dog-had been six days, it is suppo sed, wlthout-food, wailing for his master to rise. The snow was pawed awoy from the body, and the faithful creature had apparently laid upon it. —Boston Journal, Legalizing Dissection in New York.—Tbo bill which has passed the New York Senate to legalize dissections, direots the keepers of alms houses, penitentiaries, and other institutions where the inmates are supported at the public expense, to deliver, on application, to the trus tees or teachers of any medical college or school the body ot any person dying in. said instituv lions, provided the body is not demanded for in terment by any relative or friend, within 24 hours after death. It is, however, made a criminal offence on the pert of medical colleges or schools to remove the body beyond the limits of the State, or to nso it for any other purpose but for medical and snrgioal study. The bill has not yet passed the House.
