Front the Washington Union. ~ : lr * t, ? n “* Democratic Convention. _ We understand the Democratic members of Congress felt some delicacy in meddling, in the slightest degree, with the National Convention.- Hut, when they found themselves appealed to upon the time and place of the meeting, by various tr.e tings of the people; and when they found the State Convention of Georgia invoking their im position, thry could not reconcile it to themselves to abstain altogether from expressing some opin ion upon the question Tney accordingly met, and conferred together; and the result is now laid before our leaders—being a respectful recom mendation to the Democrats ol the Union to meet ns of old, according to the usages or their party] the, usual place and time of meeting. In tak ing this course, they do not pietend to dictate to thetr fellow-citizens, but most respecttully recom mend the former coutse of the Democratic Na-i tional Convention to the adoption ol tueir repub lican brethren. The following is the official ac count of the proceedings ot the meeting of the republicans of both Houses on Monday night: 1 Democratic Nalionut Convention.—Meeting of the ! We have- seen the young bride, blooming as it were', as 'the bird of paradise and the fair flowers orhope, the pride of her faiher and the joy of her mother—her cheek flushed with antici patron, and her eye beaming with the soft expres sion of love—the gay dreams of lile dancing on her fancy with the rich and varigated tints of the rainbow's promise. We have seen all Ibis changed —aye, the wedding garment for a shroud and the bridal chamber Tor the sepulchre of the dead; and all this from neglecting a common COLD. Now, before it is too late, use DR., ROGERS' LIVER WORT AND TAR, which gives immediate relief as thousands of our most intelligent families now admit of its most extraordinaiy cures. The gay, the beautiful and the young speak flirt b its praise] and will, so lung as it makes positive cuies, and cheers the desponding jhmilv fireside.
