A new well was completed oa tbe Sher man Flats, above Ibis place, on Friday last, and is making a fine show for oil. Pumped about 4 to 5 barrels tbe first six hours. This well is located just three feel from the old Noble well, one of tbe largest wells ever struck In tbe oil region, and which flowed oil In immense quantities in tbe years 1865-66. It is owned by Mr. G Wise, and Is located on tbe Foster Farm. Will probably prove a 25 lo 30 barrel well. This adds more proof lo tbe theory that old territory can be made to produce oil again when- rightly managed. On tbe 134b of May last, Mr. Tbos. Roach, agent for tbe Roberta Torpedo in this dis trict, torpedoed tbe Ray well, on the Cald well Farm, Sherman Flats, and from yield ing nothing It has produced 30 barrels per day ever since. This well was drilled over year ago and abandoned as dry. Oa the 20th of May last, Mr. Roach also torpedoed the Irwin well, Sherman Flatu owned by Mr. Wise, and Inoreased tbe pro duction from 6 to 1 barrels diily. . Mr. F. A. Robter is pumping four wells on the Sherman Flats, whlob- ere yielding bim nice llttle-inoome dairy. Several new wells areieon to-be put down In tbe same locality. What Is a little singular about this territory, tbe owoers or wells seem to think unless a large water vein is struck- that no oil exists lo tbe hole. All tbe pumping wells-there throw- out Im mense volumes or water. The SolUJny ft Andersen well, on tbe Lake farm, Cberrytree Run, was reoently torpedoed, and tbe production Increased bum 9 to 18 barrels per day. On, Friday, a new well was completed on tbe Blood Hill territory, which promises to be a six io eight barrel well. It Is looated In ttio ravine running through tbe (arm, and Is owued by the Blood FarmJOU Co. We ate pleased to notice tbe return to town ol one friends, Messrs, Deabler and Mollwalnr. Their trip to New York evi dently agreed with them as they present an toprond appearance. Coli-mbia. FiKU Items.
