C., September 30.—The North Carolina State Convention organized yesterday. lion. E. G. Read was unanimously elected President. Tit. re was a full attendance of del egates, and the crescent harmony prevailed. There is no doubt but that a clause will be in scribed in the constitution of North Carolina prohibiting slavery. It says: ••Tbe duties of the Convention are too plain to need sugges tions from me, and I earnestly believe that these duties will be faithfully performed."
