Tennis Club News: The progress of the Tennis Club in the commun- 1ty has been somewhat at a stand- still on account of lack of funds with which to finish the work. On fast Saturday evening they held an old-time festival an the schodl lawn which netted them a nice sum and they expect to have the court ready for playing in the near fi- ture Mr. Ralph Smith left last week with Rev. and Mis. Garreil to at- tend the camp meeting being held at Port Allegany. Finch in company with Mr. and Mrs. William Summers and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Mitchell of this place, spent the weekend visiting with the former's sister and hus- band. Mr. and Mrs. Lincoln Miller, at Sharon. Mrs. Almeda Stere and grand- daughter, Rose Henderson, spen' last week visiting with her sister and hasband, Mr. and Mrs, Lincoln Miller, of Sharon. They returned 10 their home on Saturday aMrs. M. M. Ryan, of Osceola Mills was a Tuesday afternoon and even- ing guest of Mrs. H. 1. Kerchner and called on other friends in the community while here. Mrs. Ryan and he: family were former resi- dents of this community. Some unknown but suspicious persons politely relieved Roy Oal-| houn of a new battery which he had recently placed in his truck and which was parked along the side of his property here, one evening last week. They also took ome of Rev Naylor's pigs. Investigations are being made and the guilty parties will be brought to justice sooner or later unless restitution is made promptly Miss Eva Rowan is quite anxious to dispose of her property here in town and which can be purchased at a reasonable price. A two-story frame house with large lot, out- buildings including a nice garage electric light and city water in the hous. Call on her at any time and see for yourself Mr. Roy Calhoun has been buay recently cutting out jogs on the farm of Miss Ida Williams at Mar- tha with which he is having lumber made to build an addition to his preperty here. R. Willams farm up Dix Run and taking care of the stock while Mr. and Mrs. Williams are away, We were sorry to learn of the death of one of our former residents, in that of Mr. John Rich, who has been in the Masonic Home at Eliz- abethtown, Pa. far the past several years. Death occurred on Monday morning after Mr. Rich had been tl for some time prior. Interment was made in Elizabethtown, Tues- day. Qur community was again sad- dened on learning of the death of Mr. Lincoln Miller, husband of the farmer Florence Finch sister of J H. Finch, of this place. He was a resident of Sharon, Pa, and had been {I for some time past.
