JOUN JOSE PH WENIZKE Dr. John Joseph Wenzke, physic ian and surgeon who was associaiod with Dr. Joseph Price at the Mrrey Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, died at 1:15 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the A. B. Beck residence at Snyder- town after a lingering iliness with tuberculosis Dr, Wenzke and his wife, the former Mildred K. Beck had been at the Beck {amily home since January 1, this year. Although he had suffered from tuberculosis for some years his condition did not become serious until after June 25. 1936. when he and his wife in less than a month after their mar- riage were involved in a motor crash at "Dead Man's Curve” Rear Nittany. Mrs. Wenzke was seriously injured, and while her husband es- caped unhurt, the shock is believed to have caused a relapse of his ail- ment, Dr. Wenzke was a son of Joseph and Thresa Wenzke and was born at Celina, Ohio, on November 27. 1902. making his age at time of feath 35 years, 6 months and 4 days. He married Miss Mildred K Beck on June 1, 1936. Burviving in addition to his wife are 8 six months-0ld son, John Joseph: five brothers and two sisters, namely: Dr, Herman Wenzke, head of the chemistry department at Notre Dame, South Bend. Ind.; Dr. Joseph and Dr. Frank Wenzke and Mrs Catherine Bigger, all of Dayton, Ohio; Louls. attending medical col lege, and Carl, also in college, and Mrs. Frances Scharf. of Fostoria Ohio. The remains will be taken by train today to Celina, Ohio, where funeral services will be held and interment made. Miss Eva Kimmel, a nurse, and Miss Miriam Beck, sis- ter-in-law of the deceased, will ieave today to attend the Jast rites. Mr. Dane hower, a friend of the Runkle fam- ily who conduct the Centre Hall Hotel, had been guving lo that inn for a months’ vacation every spring for the past cight or nine years Two weeks ago he became bediact and sank steadily until death ene sued. The deceased, a retired farm- er, resided at Ambler where he was a member of the Grange. He alo was a member of the Masonic lodge at Lansdale. Powers, 26, of Johns- town, died in the Lock Haven Hos pital Sunday morning shortly after his car wrecked in Clinton county. Powers and a companion, Harry Allenbaugh, also of Johnstown. were driving early Sunday morning in the vicinity of Salona when their car skidded on the curve at the Salona intersection, crashed into an abutment and rolled over twice.
