D T BVBMINONOV. 8. 1883, cnn or polygamy. tow Om iWIM veaerally Treats Salt Lake Tribune. A political cobvmUoo, in wbioh a por tion'of tb tMtgirt we females, would be a Terr odd affair to our Eastern friends, bat bare in Utah it is oonaidered the proper thin on the part of the dominant Anreh nartv. In the oonrention of the Umbos party which baa held aeasiona at rarioaa tiaua last weak, there were two female delegates to represent in part one preeiaet. Both oosae under the clause in the Edmunds bill and are debarred of any right to Tote because of their polygamous relations. One is a Tery aged woman, and she told, in a speech she made to the ooavention last Thursday night, that she had been with her breth ren driven in the early days of Mormon. ism from place to ptaee, until she came to Utah with the pioneers, where she has since resided and labored in the interest of the church. We are told that she has been a leader among the women of Utah in ad vocacy and perpetuation of polygamy, and that she has practised it by baring her husband enter the "celestial" beastliness. While she upholds her husband in this crime, and tramps the oounty over advo cating the doctrine of the chief tenet of the Mormon church, she has shown a bru tal disposition toward the victims of her husband's lust in the way we would not look for in so earnest an advocate of po lygamy. We are told by reliable au thority that upon a recent occasion when one of the young wives of the husband of this apost?e of Dolvtramy ffive birth to a child. she was left in a helpless condition, with one to wait upon her, and show that ten der ease and provide such comforts as she required, azoept that some Gentile neighbors went and kindly did for the woman what was denied her by those who had peisuaded her into this unholy marriago relation. This modern exponent of Mormon polygamy and political mani pulator in Mormon conventions would not go near that young wife or her husband, and more than that, issued orders to her own daughters that they must not do anything for that mother to make her comfortablo in her hour of sickness. We speak of this incident as another evidence, that in every caso of polygamous marriage there is a peep seated jealousy among the women, which they in their natures cannot sub' due. This jealousy often prompts them to convince young girls to become victims in polygamy that the "green eyed mon a'er" may become appeased. This spirit becomes procuresses in the interest of the institution so long fostered in the Mormon ohurcb, and nerves them to bear up under their own sorrow, that they may enjoy the gratification of a demon in seeing the tor ture of members ef their own sex whom they may wish to affliot.
