The prisoner seemed greatly pleased, and announced his intention of submitting his name te the next Republican national con ventien, and said only two men in the country wanted te see him hanged Perter, because that result would net him live thousand dollars, and Corkhill, because be was about te be " bounced " and Guiteau was the cause of it. IIe then fell into a blasphemous harangue, comparing himself te " the meek aud lowly Jesus," aud asserting thathe took his "pattern from the Saviour et mankind." This morning Henry Weinstcin, aged 14, a jeweler's ap prentice, was shot in the head aud instantly killed iu the office of Marcus Stein, an engraver at G3 Nassau stret. Wemsteiu was employed by the firm cf Friedmann & DalHebaum, jewelers, and was sent this morning te the engraver's for some rings belonging te his employer. Jehn Mais, an ofiice boy, was iu charge of the engraver's shop, and iu searching ler the rings the latter came en a revolver, which he placed en a desk. Weinstcin took this up and Mais cudeavercd te get it from him, when the weapon exploded and Wei estein fell with a bullet in his chest and expired. Mais was arrested while standing ever Weiustciu's body, and te the coroner related the facts of the sheeting as above. He was rcmauded, pending a further investigation of the case. Murdered by Thieves. New Yerk, Dec. 30 Leuis Ilcuir, saloon keeper at 144 AVest 2titk street, was murdered this morning at two o'clock in the hall-way of his place by some unknown persons, supposed te be thieves. Henir was aroused by hearing a noise in the store and started down te ascertain the cause. In the daik hall-way he came upon the intruders, who without warning shot him down, killing him en the spot. The murderers made their cscape. It was found that they had entered with false keys, deubtlcs for the purpose of robbery. The police are searching for them. A YOUNG MINISTER IN TROUHLE. Heffman, pastor of the First Methodist Episcopal church, this city, and one of the most premising and brilliant ministers in tbe stale, is charged by a former fcraale domestic with being the father of her ille gitimate child. Levi German will probably die. A Wlte Murderer J'aya the Death I'enalty. St. Leuis, Me., Dec. 30. Wm. II. Erl, the wife murderer, was executed heic this morning. Three hundred persons were present. The murderer epeut some time in prayer this morning, but showed no fear. A Catholic priest attended him te the scaffold. The drop was sprung at 8:11! and death ensued live minutes later. Everything passed off quietly. Poisoned by Hi wire. Elizabeth, N. J., Dec. 30. William Alcorn, aged 45, died last night front ar senic.
