Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Rishell visited n Philadelphia last week and stopped at New Windsor. Chas W. Rishell and wife have re turned from visiting at Jamestown, Washington and Philadelphia. .Air. and Mrs. Wm. Clark, of East Emporium, are proud over the arrival of that young man at their home. Miss Ma;;ie Gallagher is visiting friends at lienovo, Jersey Shore and Williamsport. D. C. Hayes, who has been receiv ing treatment at Buffalo, came home on Saturday, feeling better. John Zwald, always prompt to pay for his PRESS, dropped in Tuesday evening aud carried away a receipt well into 1908. Mrs. A. J. Haak and her daughter in-law, Mrs. L. K. Ilaak, of Mich., are visiting Mrs. R. R. Dankel at Beechwood. J. B. Meisel aud wife have returned from their vacation, having visited Buffalo and Niagara Falls and other points of interest. Misses Anna Briukman, Elizabeth Yoliii and Bernice Williams, of Olean, who liave been guests of the Misses Blumle have returned home. Mrs. John Kachenmeister was a PRESS visitor yesterday, to renew her paper. She reports her daughter who has been an invalid so long, improved. Rov. Mr. Robertson, Rector of Em manuel Church, went to New York last Sunday evening to bring back his family, who have been spending the summer in that delightful section. Thos. H. Norris.has been suffering for several days, with a sore hand in dicating poisoning. Dr. DeLong last Sunday lanced the sore which gave him some relief. Mrs. R. J. Rogers, of Binghamton, N. Y., after visiting during the summer months at the residence of her daugh ter, Mrs. Chas. T. Logan, left on Mon day lor home. Mrs. Wm. Howard, of Williamsport, who visited in town on Thursday and Friday of last week, guest of Hon. and Mrs. I. K. Hockley, returned home on Saturday, after visiting with old friends. Theo. Hirsch, of Bellevue, Pa., visit ed in Emporium over Sunday, guest of his brother R. H., and family. Theo. is clerk in R. & P. R. R. freight office and looks well. Walter Youthen* and Geo. H. Craw ford vi«ited friends and transacted business in Emporium last Saturday. Mr. Youthers ia engaged in business in Florida. Their many friends were pleased to meet them. Miss Mabel Celia Butler, of Paines ville, Ohio, who has been visiting re latives and friends in Emporium for three weeks, leaves to-day for Erie to visit relatives for a week, after which she will leave for home. Miss Butler will enter a ladies Seminary at Cleve land this fall. Mrs. S. J. Hackett, of East Empori um, was an agreeable PRESS visitor on Monday, renewing her PRESS for an other year. Mrs. Hackett has been busy fitting up the rooms on the third floor of their block into sleeping rooms. The investment no doubt will pay. The Boston Concert Company. Allen enter tained a party of twenty lady and gentlemen friends, Monday evening, at their cozy home, West Fourth street, in honor of the fifteenth anniversary of their marriage. Although not large in numbers the party made up in solid fun, until mid night when substantial refreshments were served. Mr. and Mrs. Allen delight in entertaining their friends. They were presented with a slight token of esteem. EVENING PARTY. Miss Pearl McGrain, last Thursday evening entertained about twenty young lady and gentlemen friends. There will also be a special pilgrimage to Annapolis on "Peggy Stewart Day," Saturday, October rq, when visitors will have an opportunity to inspect the magnificent new buildings of the United States Naval Academy and the remodeled State House, so full of historic associations.
