Evangelist "Sam" Jonea Haiti some uncomplimentary things about women in his address before the camp meeting at National Park, near Philadelphia, last week. "Promises" was his topic, but ho strayed from it. He said that a man with a good wife and ten children had wealth in abundance, but a man with a society wife and a pug dog has not much. In speaking of"the woman who cuts off her dress at the top for the ball room and at the bottom for the bi cycle," he said: "If a woman was to come to my house in a decollete cos tume, seat herself in my parlor and want to talk religion, I'd take off my coat and ask her to put it on. I could n't talk to her about religion in that rig. If the Lord meant that our women should appear in such costumes He would have provided them with feath ers." Orders have been posted in all depart ments of the locomotive shops of the Pennsylvania Railroad at Altoona and Juniata for a thirteen-hour day begin ning yesterday. There are orders for new engines sufficient to keep the 5,000 employes of those departments busy until January 1, and other bookings are looked for. A Great Picture of Birds. It would seem impossible, in view of the many successes scored by "The Philadelphia Sunday Press" to excell in the free distribution of art souven irs, yet that will be the fact. The sub ject to be given free to every reader of next Sunday's "Press" is a beautiful "Bird Panel," and will surpass any thing ever given away. It portrays a variety of birds faithfully and delicate ly reproduced in their natural colors, presenting an uncommon beauty, which will make for the picture a per manent place in our homes. A Mother Tells How She Saved Her .Little Daughter's Life. I am the mother of eight children and have had a great deal of experience with medicines. Last summer my little daughter had the dysentery in its worst form. We thought she would die. I tried everything I could think of, but nothing seemed to do her any good. I saw by an advertisement in our paper that Chamberlain's Colic, Cholera and Diarrhoea Remedy was highly recom mended and sent and got a bottle at once. It proved to be one of the very best medi cines we ever had in the house. I saved my little daughter's life, 1 am anxious for every mother to know what an excel lent medicine it is. Had I known it at first it would have saved me a great deal of anxiety and my little daughter much suffering.—Yours truly, MRS. GEO. P. BURMCK, Liberty, R. I. ForsalcbyL. Taggart.
