[T?-THE BLOOD SEARCHER or;; lor iocs tkiumpiian i Sworn statement of David McCrcsry, of Napier Township, Bedford county i In April, IBst>, us near as 1 can remember, a i small pimple made its appearance on my upper lip, t which soon became enlarged and sore. 1 used i polticcs of sorrel, and a wash of blue vitriol, with- I out effect. Finding the sore extending, I called on I Dr. Ely, of Scliellsburg, who pronuunced it CAN i CER,and proscrilied a wash of sugar of '.cad and j bread poultices. Finding these remedies of no j avail, I called upon Dr. Shutter, of Davidsville, i Somerset county, who also pionounced the disease I Cancer, and give me internal and external remedies —the latter consisting principally of caustic; but all to no purpose, as the disease continued spread ing toward the nose. I next used a preparation of arsenic, in the forui of salve. This for a time checked the disease, but the infl miatiun soon in creased. I next called upon Dr. Statler of St. Clairsville, Bedford county, who also pronounced the die*se Cancer, and applied a salve said to be a never failing remedy, but it had liu effect whatever in checking the spread of the sore. In December, of the same year, th disease had eateu away a ; greater oart of my upper lip, and had attacked tne : nose, when I went to Cincinnati, where I consulted Prof. H, S. Newton, of the Electic Medical College. : He pronounced the disease "a cutaneous Cancer, ! superinduced by an inordinate use i t mercury.— He applied mill zinc ointment, and gave iutcrml ! temedies. My face healed up, but the infl imation j was tint thoroughly remove i. In Fobuary, 185' , ! he pronounced me cured, and I Lit for honte. In i April the disease again returned and so violent was j the pain that I could not rest at night. Late in ' May I returned to C ticixnati, aud again placed I myself under the rbigc of Dr. Newton, u itl. v, bom I r.-Jnained until during which Lree be | used every known remedy, and partly succeeded in I checking the disease, but when I ret timid home there were still three discharging ulcers upon my i face. I continued using Newton's preparations, ! and also medicine that 1 got (roju l)r. Ely, but the ■ Cancer continued growing until it had eat ojf the ' left side of my note. Ihe greater portion of my left ! cheek, and had attacked my left eye. ] had given up j all hope of ever being cured; since Dr. Ely said lie could only give relief; but that a cure was impos sible. In Match, 1858, I bought a bottle of' Blood Scearclier,' but 1 must confess that I had no faith in it. 1 was very weak when I commenced taking I it; I lit I found that I gained strength day by day, and also tint the ulcers commenced drying up. 1 continuid, and when the third bottle was taken my i face was healed as if by a miracle. I Used a forth bottle, and I have been healthier since than I hive I been for tbe last seven years. Although ray fie - is 8.,d1y disfigured, lam still grateful to a benign !
