The Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania Knights of Pythias assembled yesterday at Thirteenth and Spring Garden streots. A large number of delegates were present from all parta of the State, and the greater portion of the session during the dny was occupied in receiving re ports and initiating new representatives. In the evening an election was held for grand officers, and tho following were elected: Grand Chancellor, Philip Lowry, Jr.; Grand Banker, William T. Hose; Grand Recording Scribe, William Blancbois. Last evening a meeting of the hoira of the Anneke Jans-Bogardus estate was held at the hall No. 72.r llace street, at which, a re port was received from the Committee of Twenty, to the effect that Judge Harris, of Albany, N. Y., had been engaged in tho caso, and his opinion was that the property held by Trinity Church belongs equitably to the heirs of Anneke Jans. The committee feel that one year more will see the controversy at an end, and the vast property in the hands of the heirs. The quarterly session of the Grand Sec tion of Pennsylvania Cadets of Temperance was held last evening in the hall, northwest corner of Seventh and Sansom streets, G. W. P. William Davis in the chair. Mr. B. P. Dennison, Grand Seoretary, presented his report, which shows the Order to be in a flourishing condition. Charters have been granted to organize three new Sectiona since October. An application for a new Section, to be located in the lower portion of the city, was read and granted. Messrs. William Da-vis and John W. Carson were elected delegates to represent the Grand Section in the llairis bnrg" Convention. In accordance with the resolution passed at the temperance meeting held at the Assem bly Buildings on Monday night, in which Mr. Charles Heritage, the president, was em powered .to appoint a committee to make arrangements for a meeting to be held on the 22d of February, in compliance with the call issued by the Congressional Temperance Society at Washington, that gentleman has named the follawing citizens as the commit tee: Kev. The only papers of this division in tho office were the list of voters, the oath of the officers, and the tally list. The latter showed 240 tallica for Mr. Hodgdon and 198 for Mr. Coxe, which, if added, would make the vote stand: Hodgdon, 1370; Coxe, 1359. The tally list of the First division gave Mr. Coxe one vote more than the hourly return; in the Second division hourly return there was an alteration in this vote of from 15 to 14. and in the Third division an alteration from 23 to 21. Mr. Hodgdon'a vote in tho Sixth division waa altered on the hourly re. turn from 22 to 24: the tally list showed 24 for him. Subpoenas were then issued and made re turnable on Friday next at 3 o'clock. The committee then adjourned. A meeting of petroleum refiners and dealers opposed to the passage of the "oil" bill now before the Legislature was held at No. 133 " South 8ccond street, yeeterday. The Chair ap pointed a committee to draft a memorial to be submitted to tho Legislature. The Coroner yesterday commenced an Inves tigation into the killing or ucunis corKrey, when Timothy Sullivan, Timothy O'Leary, George Miller, James Collins, John Fitzpatrick, and other witnesses were examined. The in quest was postponed owing to the absence of certain parties. The prisoner was present, aud his manner was quiet and subdued.
