This was 1,000 head, or 2 per cent, more than were on feed on October 1, 1963. Marketings o t fed cattle during the July- September quarter were 34,000, the same as a year earlier. | There were 42,000 cattle placed on feed during the quarter compared with 35,000 the pre vious year Cattle on feed less than 3 months on October 1 totaled 35,000 head up 4,000 from a year earlier. The num ber of cattle on feed 3-6 months at 6,000 was down 3,- 000 from a year earlier, and more than 6 months was .un changed at 10,000 head. Num bers of cattle in the under SOO pounds, 500-699 pounds and 700-899 pounds classes in creased 1,000 head each -to 4,- 000, 9,000 and 20,000 respect ively while the 900-1099 pounds class at 15,000 was unchanged.
