LANCASTER COUNTY FARM BUREAU 4-H Club News PENN MANOR CLUB HELD PARTY FOR PARENTS The Penn Manor Sewing and Cooking Club held a par ty for their parents on Sat urday, Sept. 12, at the Cones toga Elementary School. Piano solos were presented by Linda Porter, Peggy Eshle man and Joy Hostetter. Cindy and Patty Kepner sang a duet. Other entertainment was pro vided by Sandra Zerbe who presented some folk songs. The sewing members mod eled their garments and awards were presented. In the third year sewing group, Ist prize went to Betty Jane Barley, $2.9 million, was authorized by the 1959 Legislature. Ground was broken October 30, 1962. Lancaster Farming, Saturday, September 19, 1964 and 2nd prize to Betsy Ginter. In second year sewing: Ist prize, Linda Porter; 2nd prize, Ellyce Engle; and 3rd prize, Peggy Eshleman. Patsy Eshle man won Ist prize in the first year sewing group, and 2nd prize went to Janna Frey. Cooking awards were won by Connie Stehman, first; Lin da Porter, second; and Lucy Herr, third. E’TOWN-DONEGAL CLUB SEPT. MEETING The Elizabethtown-Donegal 4-H Community Club held its September meeting at the Christ Miller farm, Elizabeth town R 3. Members enjoyed volleyball from 7-8 p.m. Larry Brubaker presided. Members answered roll call by report ing on their projects. Virginia Wivell told the group that the County Council will have food stands at sev eral fairs in the county to help defray expenses for the 4-H members’ trip to Coloiado. Help is needed to man these stands, and anyone intei est ed in helping should contact her. The first fair will be at Manheim, October 7-9. The group enjoyed movies of the FFA trip to California.
