We will feature the favorite recipe of members of various organizations in the county. This will include Farm Wo men’s Societies, Homemaker Groups, Church organizations and the like. Included with the recipes will be a brief history of the organization and an outline of some of their activities. T oday we are featuring favorite recipes of some of the members of the Volunteer Bible Class of Memorial Church in Quarryville, Pa This class, comprised of young adults, has as its present project the renovation of a room in which their weekly class sessions arc held They also conduct a nur sery for pre-school children dur ing the church service every Sun day morning. In order to raise money, the women of this class hold a soup sale and bake semi-anriually, oc casionally take charge of a church banquet, and sponsor the sale of certain articles, ranging in any thing from floor wax to church plates' For fun, they hold family picnics, swims, and doggie roasts ’during the summer months. RAISIN SPICE OATMEAL COOKIES Helen Evans, Stanton Road, Quarryville 1 cup sifted flour \z teaspoon soda Vz teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon cinnamon Vi teaspoon nutmeg Vz cup shortening Vz cup brown sugar Vi cup white sugar 1 egg 2 tablespoons milk 1 cup raisins 2 cups oatmeal Mix flour, soda, salt, spices.
