The March campaign will combine spectacular egg pro motion effort, nationally and locally, with all-out activity at the "grassroots” in the 48 states to finance intensified egg pro motion programs by PENS ’round the calendar. The financing effort is being built around a voluntary check off system for egg producers. The check-off will be 10 cents for each case of eggs sold during March. State Poultry and Egg Board committees will spearhead cam paigns encouraging consumers to eat extra eggs and urging pro ducers to participate in, the eggs ; check-off as a practical means of helping themselves and the in dustry from which they earn their living. Materials of help in conduct ing the egg check-off campaign have been developed by the Poultry Sc Egg National Board and distributed to ail state PENS cimnittees. At its meeting in Quar ryville Firemen’s Hall, Monday evening, it was voted to purchase 500 pheasants for stocking pur poses. Roy H. Weaver, of Stras burg Township, will grow the pheasants. The game committee was au thorized to purchase turkeys for stocking purposes, up to the sum of $2OO The woodlands in the Puseyville area and the river MBs were suggested as places in. which the turkeys would be placed. Members agreed to fur nish feeders and gram for their support. The auditors’ report showed re ceipts of $1,479 98, and expen- prehensive pulicity kit containing information, on the “East Extra Eggs” campaign for newspapers and magazines and radio and TV stations.
