JOY PH. 3 9900 i i top showman at the 25th annual Mt. Joy Community Exhibit last week was Herbert Frey, 18-year old son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Har old Frey, R 1 Lancaster. Another Angus, shown by Henry Greiner, R 4 Manheim, walked off with the reserve championship. Both the champ and reserve came to Lancaster County from the farm of Morris V Hitt at Landenberg in Chester County. Standing second in show manship was Kenneth Miller whose red Shorthorn, topped that division, and third was Herbert’s sister, Janet, show ing a Hereford. Ten pens of 4H Club lambs were selected for the J. 957 Penn sylvania Farm Show, swine were judged, and, in evening cere monies, Miss Elaine Showalter, 17, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Showalter, HI Marietta, was ciowned 1956 Lancaster County Corn Queen. Herbert reports his Angus, Blackie, weighed 350 when he arrived a year ago, and scaled about 875 when shown. He has shown eight years, and two years ago took the showmanship award at Mt. Joy. His twin brother, Harold, stood secohd at the 1955 Farm Show in heavyweight steers. In eight years of showing, the winner has shown Angus each year except tfie first, when it was a Hereford that started him on the fair circuits. Here are winners in the steer division of the Mt.
