Manheim Farm Show to Run October 4 to 6 Sixteen entry classifications, a dairy judging contest, a tractor driving contest and a special rural youth program will be featured at the third annual Manheim Community Farm Show opening next Thursday, Oct. 4, and running through Saturday. Oct. 6. The sixteen classifications open for competition include baby beef, dairy, swine and sheep, poultry, vegetables, fruits and nuts, apian, produces farm crops; potatoes, small grains and tobacco, eggs, canned goods, flowers, arts and crafts, sewing, woodwork and baked goods. Premiums, ribbons and trophies will be offered the win ners of the competition Twenty-one special trophies and awards will be presented to winners in the swine, poul try, dairy, baby beef and rural youth divisions of the show. The tractor driving contest is open to any resident of Lancaster County and will consist of three groups youth under 18 years of age, adults over 18 years of age and a ladies class, any age. Contest ants must register with Ammon Shelly, Manheim P. 0. Box 85, by Oct. 1 giving their name, ad dress, age group and make ot tractor. Four special awards Will be made in the contest division. A special youth program will be conducted. The contest will be open to any youth under the age of twenty in the area of Manheim. The youth with the highest number of points will be presented special awards. The three-day event will be opened Thursday, Oct. 4, with a 2%-mile parade beginning at 7 p m. At least eight local bands, seven floats and a number of organization displays will be in the line of march. The parade will be led by the Lancastei County Council of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Color-guard and six Pennsylvania State Po licemen on horses.
