Page Eight- Eighaorea Collegian, FAREWELL by Janilou Maderiok Farewell to arm, legs, eyes, noses, minds, bodies, and other assorted paraPhernalia associated with my dear friends at Highaores. Yes, that long-awaited term has fi nally arrived. As of spring term 1974, Janilou is off to see the wizard at the Mecca 'of all PSU Commonwealth Campus students—University Park. Big ger and better things certain ly await me there. Nevertheless, even in the heights of snobbery I could never forget the life and times I enjoyed at Misty Moun tain. I will always feel a warm place in my heart and a soft spot in my head when I re member such stirring occasions as those days of uninhibited fun on the foundation of our campus landmark, the Markle Mansion. Picnics held there were nearly always concluded by a highly imaginative "tour" of that great edifice, no longer with us. Who could forget be ing ecstatic about Stat 200 (and learning the entire Greek alphabet) along with Mr. Paul and a chosen few? When remin iscing about past terms, the one and only X-rated movie in Mr. Mainstry's Psy 2 class will come to mind. Starring several prominent researchers and a cast of thousands (rats, or course), it was a true ex pedition in pornography! When. ever.l find myself in a pseudo economic bin 4 I will no doubt, recall the day inflap tion hit the SUB, and the price of milkshakes was raised 50. Ity fondest memories of the schol astic side of life at High acres will certainly include having Dr. Aurand and his hats for• three terms in a row. What I will miss the most while at palversiti Park is that fun-loving bunch of idiots known as my friends. One would never guess that a per son could become attached to a blab place like Hazleton. Well, I have and I woad ven ture to guess that quite a few of those who read this art icle have also. Examine your memories and see. Most. likely you will agree that Hazleton isn't each a bad place to live after all, and any loyal.PSU student here can testify to that. April 9, 1974 Dorm SO/OCtS maiden assistants In the beginning of the Winter Term, letters were sent to all the residents of the dormitory saying that applica tions for the positions of Resident Assistants were be ing accepted. Several days later, 22 students met in the Boys' Project Room with the purpose of selecting six R.A.'s. Agendas were passed out and small group sessions were held. Meetings would be once a week unless otherwise notified. The process consisted of two small group sessions, group interviews, and personal interviews. After this, Mr. Binns, Mrs. Lewis, and the six current R.A.'s met for a first out. The out eliminated those who had not sobred high enough in the previous sessions. Then the five remaining girls and .the five remaining boys had a taping session in which the individual was confronted with a problem that he had to solve on tape. The taping was un rehearsed, and each individual was given a different problem. The candidates then had to have a personal interview with Mks. Lewis, and Mr. Binns, and the last out was made. The Resident Assistants for the 1974-75 school year are Debbie Murgess, 18, Patti Blust. 18, Linda Haden, 18, Mark Butler, 19, Bill Finer frock, 18, and Bill Hall, 19. NEW NATIONAL BEST SELLER!
