Stanch**. - , OE' COMMENTS F . ROrVi TIE By STACy DE ANGELO ANCI PETE STRELLA I want to start this week's issue out by congratulating the SGA on a job well done for the Bachelor/Bachelorette Event. Over $4OO was raised for Four Diamonds/THON and kids with cancer. It was a great time and a nice way to get to know people. I personally went for $5, which was about the average going rate. Some people blew that away, like Jenna Sullivan who went for the most at $lO5. A pattern that I noticed was that SGA members were buying up the Capital Times staff and vice versa. SGA Senator Lee Cutchal got me and I in turn won him. SGA President Parul Luthra beat out the other ladies for Photo Editor Jason Russo. SGA Secretary Andrea Nye, who is engaged by the way, walked away with Cap Times Foreign Correspondent Marko Primorac and staff writer Christian Dubbs. Marko beat out the guys for SGA Secretary Mary Anne Nguyen I guess the turmoil between SGA and the Capital Times in past years is over. We all had a great time at the ABC North Bowling Alley, which is where the couples fom the event went on their dates. I'd also like to thank ABC North for being gracious enough to donate six games. Thank you. Also, thanks should go out to the WPSH Radio Club for providing the equipment for the DJs. (Yes we do have a radio club, which will soon have a new office in the Towne Square) THON is upon us. February 21, 22, and 23 is THON weekend. I urge you to support the dancers as much as possible. Wish them luck before they go, thank them when they return, and even visit them at Rec. Hall in State College if you can. Representatives from various campuses will be participating in the 48- hour dance marathon. Also, there will be a number of kids present at the dance who benefit from any proceeds raised. Throw in some live entertainment and games, it's sure to be a fun-filled weekend. Lastly, I would like to address the wonderful winter weather we've been having lately. I would like to commend M & 0 on the great job and all the hard work that went into cleaning up the snowy mess. I had a heck of a time digging my car out of the parking lot, as did many people, but there was a great deal of teamwork seen amongst students and maintenance. The only thing that bothers me is the huge snow bank at the corner of the main entrance in Olmsted's parking lot. It's a bit dangerous when you're pulling out onto University Drive. Visibility to the right (towards the trucking complex) is completely obstructed. I'm sure something will be done to take care of that if the warm weather doesn't get to it first. Here are some words from Pete. I would also like to thank M & 0 for an excellent job on removing the snow. I was sure that the parking lot would be a mess when I came back, but it wasn ' My school suggestion of the month is to have a sign put up on the Capital Union Building that reads "GYM."If I had a nickel for every time I was asked where the gym was this week, I'd have somewhere around $2.50 by now. Visitors can never find the place, so let's help them out and put up a sign. FAA:. t, I'. I D ITORS
