According to Werner, the faculty sen ate, which is presided over by Dr. Anita Vickers, coordinator of the Schuylkill humanities program, addresses and makes recommendations to the adminis tration on issues such as faculty workload policies, research requirements, library staff funding and academic program ming. As a member of the senator, Werner sits on the Student Affairs Committee. Issues before the committee last term included housing and academic advising. Werner openly admitted that "our advis ing is terrible." He encourages students to contact him with questions or concerns issues on campus? "I didn't go into it with any real ezpec- Herwig said of her role as ViA president. "I expected it to be difficult," she said. "It's been wonderful," Herwig added. At the same time, the SGA, like any other governing body, is not without con flicts. "There's lots of different points of view," Ottaviano said of the SGA. "A lot of people challenged each other. It's not what I expected from a student govern ment."
