BEHREND BRIEFS
PENN STATE PIONEERS ONLINE
PLACEMENT TESTS
Penn State's Office of Undergraduate Education pioneered new territory this
summer as nearly 15,000 students completed their placement testing for chem
istry, English and math online without ever setting foot on campus. "Penn State's
online approach to placement is more extensive than any other large university's,"
said Janis Jacobs, vice provost for Undergraduate Education and International
Programs. The entire Penn State 2003 incoming class, including international
students, out-of-state students and students entering each of the campus col
lege locations, logged on from home computers or other off-site locations. Stu
dents without access to a home computer were offered computer lab options at
the Penn State campus closest to their home.
Green and gold are back in style!
With the addition of 10 new members from last year's recruitment,
Alpha Sigma Tau is back and ready to invite the women of Penn
State Behrend to join the growing organization.
Rush (recruitment) is an important part of all Greek organizations.
These events (rush parties) are designed to let women meet sisters
and learn about Alpha Sigma Tau. During this time period, you
learn about Greek mainstay philanthropy and other aspects of
Greek life. The sisters of Alpha Sigma Tau help the community
through various projects including Adopt-a-Highway.
Events will be held on the following dates: Sept. 24 and Oct. 8
both at 9 p.m. in Bruno's.
Student Government Association to
hold elections

man Senator positions, one regular Senator position, and a University Faculty
