Lions take second at the rival Frostburg by Leacy Sauer staff writer On Saturday, the Penn State Behrend women's cross country team hosted the AMCC Championship race at the Behrend fields. Trying to defend their title, the women's team came close to a first place victory, but lost to the Bobcats of Frostburg State. In 2001, Behrend broke Frostburg's winning streak over the conference that had lasted since 1997. Expecting to once again deny them a first place victory, the Lions were determined to reclaim the top spot for the second year in a row. Unfortunately, the women's team was bumped to second place. Cooper was proud of the effort each team member made. Despite small numbers, he believes they made a big impact in the conference. "I also think that having experience in playing nine overtime games this season played a role in the outcome of the game."
