"One of the positive aspects of fraternity and. sorority membership is the opportunity to develop the leadership potential with our members," he said. Barbie Tootle, special assistant to the president at Ohio State University and the keynote speaker yesterday in Schwab Auditorium, stressed that students have to be a little selfish when involved in organizations to be sure they receive something in proportion to what they contribute. CCSG is designed as an advocacy group to address the needs of stu dents attending the University's 17 Commonwealth campuses. Each Commonwealth campus has three student representatives. Regional meetings, which would include several area campuses, will provide a forum to solve problems more quickly and effectively than bringing the problem before CCSG, Price said. Also, regional meetings would pro mote group unity among campuses 4100 , 0 , 01 1 . 10 0 and improve CCSG's internal struc ture, including reducing apathy among its members, Price said. According to CCSG officials, prob lems facing the organization include low attendance at meetings and poor ly informed representatives. Though CCSG candidates con tended that restructuring CCSG could ease most of the organization's prob lems, Price said, "CCSG's problems and solutions lie within all of us." "Cutting down the constitution and examining every section is not the answer," Price said. Rather, con ducting more productive meetings and initiating new programs to in crease interest within the organiza tion are the answers.
