    ALUMNI NOTES.
The friends of Hamer H. Allen,
'97, were agreeably surprised last
week to receive announcement cards
of his marriage at Garrett, Ind., on
Saturday, Sept. 28, to Miss Mary
E. Frederick, of that city. MI .
Allen is traveling for the Susque
hanna Coal Company, with head
quarters in Erie.
Leroy .•::holl, 'Ol, accompanied
by his wife and mother, spent a day
at the college last week. He was a
foriner State football captain, coach,
and hammer thrower.
F. E. Winer, 'O7, was recently
married to lvliss ivi. E. Baxe.r, of
Bradford, Pa. He is in the contract
ing•and building business with his
father in Bradford.
S. H. Yorks, 'O7, a former man
ager of the Collegian, writes from
B •rwick,Pa.,where he has a position
with the American Car and Foundry
company.
R. P. Graham, 'O7, writes from
Altoona where he has a position in
the civil department of the Pennsyl
vania railroad
Clarence R. Potteiger, 'O7, has
accepted a position as chemist with
the State Agricult.lral Department.
Edw =rd W. Bush, '92, writes from
Hartford, Conn., where he is en
gaged in civil' engineering work.
W. J. Hulings, ex-'O7, is now a
student in the Colorado School of
Mines at Goldea, Colorado.
The University of Syracuse has
let the contract tot a new gymnasium
which will cost $300,000. The
building is to be a tilt ee story struc
ture, with the main floor 210 feet
long by 100 feet wide. The build
ing will be the largest gymnasium
in the world, exceeding that of
Princeton, which has heretofore been
the largest.
E. K. Mentzer, ex-'O9, at present
working for the Penna. Steel Co. at
Steelton, was in town this week.
