ARTICLE VI. Method of Election. Section 1. There shall be four polling places, one for Seniors, Pre paratory and Irregular Students, one for Juniors, one for Sophomores, and one for Freshmen. Sec. 2. The election board shall comprise nine members, consisting of a judge, four tellers, and four clerks, the judge of elections to appoint a teller and a clerk for each polling place. Sec. 3. The members of the elec tion board shall be 'appointed by the President Of the Athletic Association not earlier than noon of the day of the election. Sec. 4. Elections shall be held one week from the date of the meeting at which the nominations were made and the polls shall be open from 6to 8 o’clock p.m., closing promptly at 8. Sec. 5. Each member shall pre sent his ballot at his class polling place. The clerk shall record the name of each voter in a manner determined upon by the election board prior to the opening of the polls. Sec. 6. In counting the votes, after the polls are closed, the number of votes of each class shall correspond with the number of voters recorded. The tellers shall report the result of the election to the Judge of Election who shall announce the result and shall give the Secretary a ballot with the number of votes cast for each candidate written opposite his name. This ballot shall signed by each member of the board. ARTICLE VII Impeachments. Should any officer or member of a committee neglect or be found incom petent to discharge the duties of his office, he may be removed by a vote of two thirds of the active members of the Association. ARTICLE VIII. Foot Ball Department. Section 1. The Foot Ball Depart ment shall be governed by the Captain, Coach (as a lay member), Manager, and Assistant Manager. The Advisory THE STATE COLLEGIAN Committee shall be ex-officio mem bers of this Board without right to vote. Sec. 2. The Association shall, on the second Monday in May, elect an Assistant Manager and a Marshal. Sec. 3. It shall be the duty of the Manager, under the direction of the Captain, Coach, and Advisory Com mittee, to make and arrange all sched ules of ’Varsity games and to attend to all business matters incident to this department. After each game he shall deposit the net receipts of that contest with the Treasurer, together with an itemized account of expenses and receipts or vouchers for the same. He shall issue orders on the Treasurer for the payment of all debts contracted by the department. The Advisory Committee shall have power to cancel such orders, in which case they can only be paid by a two-thirds vote of the Association. Sec. 4 It shall be the duty of the Assistant Manager to render all neces sary aid tc the Manager and in the absence of the Manager or his inabil ity to perform the duties of his office, to fulfill the duties of the Manager. He shall also have charge of the sec ond team and arrange all games for it. He shall become manager im mediately upon the expiration of the term of his predecessor. It shall be the duty of the Assistant Manager to take charge of all outstanding goods in his department when not in use. Sec. 5. It shall be the duty of the Marshal to take charge of all trophies belonging to this department. With the aid of assistants appointed by him self, the Marshal shall preserve order on the side lines. Sec. 6. The Captain for the follow ing season shall be elected at the an nual banquet at the close of the sea son by members of present team enti tled to wear the S. Sec. 7. The privilege of wearing the Foot Ball S shall be granted to any member of the team who has played a full half in each of the regularly sched uled games and in any part of the Dickinson or Thanksgiving games. The regularly elected Manager acting for the season shall also be awarded the ‘Varsity S. Sec. 8. At the close of the season the Advisory Committee shall award the Varsity S to those players and Manager who are entitled to wear the ‘Varsity emblem, and the S is not to be worn before it has been awarded. . Sec. 9. The Foot Ball S shall be a white S on a blue sweater, hat or cap. The S shall be of block style ; the dimensions for sweater shall be • height 8 inches, breadth 6-J- inches, and thickness 1-J inches. Sec. 10. The members of the sec ond Foot Ball team shall be entitled to wear the letters ‘‘STATE". Only the second foot ball team shall be allowed to wear “STATE”. These shall be white letters on blue sweater, hat or cap. Sec. 11 . The Assistant Manager shall keep a record of the attendance of the second team players at practice and together with the ‘Varsity Captain and coaches, shall submit to the Advi sory Committee a list of those players whom they deem eligible to wear “STATE”. This emblem shall be awarded at the same time as the ‘Varsity S. ARTICLE IX. Base Ball Department. Section 1 The control the Base Ball Department shall be in the hands of the Captain, Coach (as a lay mem ber), Manager and Assistant Manager. The Advisory Committee shall be ex officio members of this board without right to vote. Sec. 2. The Athletic Association shall elect an Assistant Manager and Marshal on the first Monday in De cember. Sec. 3. The duties of the Base Ball Manager shall be the same as those of the Foot Ball Manager in Ar ticle VIII, Section 3. Sec. 4. The duties of the Assis tant Base Ball Manager shall be the same as those of the Assistant Foot Ball Manager in Article VIII, Sec tion 4. Sec. 5. The duties of the Marshal shall be the Same as those of the Foot Ball Marshall in Article VIII, Section 5. Sec. 6. The Captain for the follow ing season shall be elected by the mem bers of present team entitled to wear the S, immediately after the Com mencement game. Sec. 7. Privilege of wearing a base ball S shall be granted to any member of the team who has played at least 5
