Symphony Orchestra. The programme as followed out by the company was exceptionally fine, and elicited well-merited ap plause. Miss Haeker, as soprano soloist, delighted the audience with her selections and responded charmingly to hearty encores. Mr. White, as elocutionist and impersonator, recited several amusing and original anecdotes, which, by the volume of applause that they brought forth, were well feceived. Most enjoyable of all, however, was the musical programme given by the twenty young ladies of the company. Beyond the fact that each selection was a gem and was exquisitely rendered, the appearance of the orchestra upon the stage was most attrac tive. The various costumes and the tasteful arrangement of the company, together with the personal charms and graces of the in dividual members, composed as pretty a picture as can well be imagined. To those who, by their attendance, so kindly contributed to the success of the affair, the Free Lance extends grateful thanks. And most especially do we wish to acknowledge our in debtedness to the members of the Faculty and the ladies of the College for the.ir favors and their encouragement. "pOR the benefit of Mr. F. H.
