Coffee with the Provost: will be held on
Tuesday, November 16 at 1 p.m. in Reed
Seminar Room. It is an opportunity for
students to discuss issues and concerns with
Dr. John M. Lilley, Provost and Dean. All
students are invited to attend. Coffee, drinks
and snacks are provided.
Crime Prevention Program: Police and
Safety will offer free engraving of valuables for
students as well as bicycle registration from
Monday November 15 until Wednesday
November 17 from 6:30 p.m.-8 p.m. each day.
They will be in the lobbies of Perry (Monday),
Lawrence (Tuesday), and Niagara
(Wednesday).
Astronomy Open House: “The Search for
Extraterrestrial Life” will be the subject of the
next Astronomy Open House. The open house
will be held Friday, Nov. 19, and begin with
an illustrated talk at 7:30 p.m. in 101 Otto
Behrend Science Building. This is to be
followed by observation using the College’s
small telescopes, weather permitting, as well as
a discussion lead by Dr. Roger Knacke, a
NASA-funded planetary researcher who heads
the Division of Science. Admission is free.
Diehl Honors Luncheon: Children from
Diehl Elementary School, grades 1-5 who
made the honor poll during their first semester,
will be healed to lunch at Dobbins Dinning Hall
Underage Drinking
On Sunday, October 31 at 1:20 a.m., a commuter student was observed staggering around the parking lot
by the apartment quad. When stopped by officers, they could detect alcohol on his breath. When he was
asked his age, he stated that he was not 21 years old. At this time, the subject was given a citation for
underage drinking.
Underage Drinking/Public Drunkenness
On Sunday, October 31 at 2:15 a.m., a student was observed staggering in the parking lot of Lawrence
Hall. When officers talked with the subject, they could smell the odor of alcohol on his breath. The
subject was cited for underage drinking and public drunkenness.
Towed Vehicle
On Sunday, November 7 at 1:15 a.m., a vehicle was towed from Perry lot for parking in a faculty/staff
seven days a week 24 hours a day space. A state traffic citation was issued.
Obscene Phone Call Investigation Update
Many women across campus have been receiving obscene phone calls from “Frank Fasso.” Police and
Safety is asking that, due to the mass of complaints received, if the woman has just received one call from
this individual that she need not report the incident.
At this point of the investigation it is asked that only the women receiving repeated calls from this man
notify Police and Safety.
This man is calling all of the local colleges. If he calls Behrend he states he is from Edinboro; if he calls
Edinboro he will say he is from Behrend or another college.
This is currently under investigation and charges will be filed once the identity of the individual is
determined.

After School Tutors Needed: for the
Penn State Behrend/Diehl Elementary Adopt-A-
School Tutoring Program for spring semester,
1994. This is an excellent chance for those
who love working with children. The more
tutors who volunteer, the more children we can
serve in the program. Informational forms are
available from Mari Trenkle in the Provost’s
Office (x 6160) or Leigh Barnes in the Learning
Assistance Center (x 6014).

Women’s Film Series continues: The
movie “Overseas” will be shown on Tuesday,
November 16 at 7 p.m. in the Reed Lecture
Hall. Admission is free and open to the public.
Dinner with Six Strangers: will be held
on Thursday, November 18 at 6 p.m. in the
Wintergreen Cafe. All students are invited to
attend this seventh annual evening of fine food
and fellowship. Students may RSVP in the
Office of Student Activities until November 15,

Parking Permit Sale: As of Monday,
November 1,1993 fall parking permits will be
reduced to half price for the rest of the
semester. The reduced price will be reflected in
the spring permits if bought between
November 1 and December 1. For more

OLAS Meeting: The Organization of Latin
American Students’ meetings are on Sundays at
9:10 p.m. in Hall. For more

Class Still Needs “Adopted”: The third
grade class at Diehl Elementary School is still
seeking a student organization to adopt them.

Bowl-A-Thon: The Omicron Delta Kappa
honor society will hold its annual Bowl-A-
Thon on Sunday, November 14, at Eastland
’ Bowling Lanes. All proceeds will go toward
new books for the Behrend library. For more

The first Student Government executive board
meeting of the semester was held on Tuesday.
The meeting was held to discuss questions that
will be posed to the stipend committee.
A committee was formed to approach the
directors of the library and the computer center.
The goal is to extend the hours of both during
finals week.
Living on Campus (formerly Commuter Council)
has moved its meetings to 12:00-1:00 on
Wednesdays.
Next week we will be discussing ideas to present
to the University Faculty Senate Student Life
Committee. This committe will present requests
of improvements to Behrend student life. If you
have any ideas please feel free to join us.
