ECAC's down
the road
by Joe Mottillo
Collegian Staff
"Defensively, we're a very
good team. It's sad that we're
not better offensively," are the
words of head coach Fred
Paulsen of the Behrend Lions
men's basketball team.
For the season, the Lions
post a 9-12 record. The most
recent setback, a 69-58 loss to
Grove City on February 3.
The turning point in the
season in Coach Paulsen's mind
was the Thiel game on the first
of February, "We had a chance
to go 10-10 if we beat Thiel,
but we didn't. That was a big
let down."
The team is still optimistic
about their chances for the
ECAC playoffs. "If we win our
final four games, we'll end up
13-12 and hopefully the
committee will look at us,"
said Paulsen.
Said senior power forward,
Stephan . Respress, "It's still
possible." The Lions were only
15-11 when they got in last
season, so there still is a
possible chance if they play
well down the home stretch.

Don Plyler will have
reconstructive knee surgery on

they are only scoring 62.7
points per game. The Lions
final three games are all on the
road. The first being Thiel on
February 17.
