Page 4 HOT OFF THE PRESS WORLD New calculations suggest a tiny chance that a large comet now nearing the sun may take a swipe at Earth when it returns again in 134 years. Although the chance of the comet Swift-Tuttle hitting Earth in the year 2126 is extremely small, a collision could perhaps snuff out much of the life on Earth. The comet is thought to be a chunk of ice and rock about 6 miles in diameter moving in an orbit that takes it close to the sun every 130 years. Astronomers recently proposed setting up a system to monitor the approach of comets and asteroids, with the idea of someday steering them off course if they appear likely to hit the Earth. NATION WASHINGTON - U.S. officials, on a weekend trip to Vietnam, gained access to a cache of secret information, including thousands of photographs that could shed light on the fate of Americans missing in action in the Vietnam War. "There's a good chance we'll get a lot of cases solved - dozens, hundreds maybe," said one Defense Department official. If positive identifications are made resulting from the new information, families of the missing men will be notified first, the officials said. President Bush is to be briefed on the results Thursday, then there will be a public announcement. The three-day trip was hastily arranged after the United States got word that Vietnam was prepared to cooperate in turning over material it has previously held back. One official said the information appears to be the most important breakthrough in the long POW-MIA effort in two decades. NEW YORK -- Today, 750,00 copies of Madonna's collection of sex-fantasy photos arrived in bookstores across America. Nothing is left to the imagination in this 128 page book of photographs. The book was created under strict security. The book's publisher said, "We had to have armed guards at the plant, to make sure copies would not disappear. The materials were under lock and key at every stage." So browsers can't peek unless they pay, the book has metal covers and comes sealed in a silver-colored plastic bag featuring Madonna's face. SALT LAKE CITY - A college student searching for fossilized bugs and worm tracks stumbled upon rare fossils of dinosaur skin impressions dating back at least 75 million years. Scientists hope the find will lead to a better understanding of how dinosaurs looked. Paul Sereno, a paleontologist at the University of Chicago, said dinosaur skin fossils are exceptionally rare, estimating that only a couple dozen have been found worldwide.
