"Rick and I came to Behrend
last year because we had heard
from some people that they have
a good (soccer) program here," he
said.
Rusty has a lot more
experience on the field than just
high school and college.
He has been playing soccer
since he was five years old on
various club teams.

From age 12 to 15 he played
on Penns Forest, a summer
league team in the Pittsburgh
area.
They traveled to many
tournaments in other states, and
played teams from New York and
even Canada. "It was a great
experience for me, and taught me
a lot," he said.

The Collegian
team this year is defense. "Our
defense is the cornerstone of the
team this season. It keeps us in
every game and the offense tries
to build from it," Rusty said.
Off the field, Rusty is an active
member of the Delta Chi
Fraternity, and is an avid follower
of the Pittsburgh Pirates and
Penguins.
He is also thinking about

Irving out for the baseball team
here at Behrend in the spring.
Rusty is planning on
completing his education and
soccer career at Behrend.
Even though this season is
almost over, he is already
looking forward to next year. "I
hope to keep contributing to the
offense and supporting the
defense," he said.
