Intramurals

The Collegian
Intramural season has kicked
into high gear with three more
sports completed, sand
volleyball, softball, and cross
country.
In sand volleyball, 43 teams
competed in the men's and coed
brackets.
After two weeks of preliminary
rounds, the Nasty Buckeyes A
defeated the Nasty Buckeyes B in
a grueling three game match.
Aracihcat and SFL Studs lost
to the "Nasty" teams in the
semifinals respectively. The coed
finals pit the defending champs,
Grover's All-Stars, against Team
Speedo.
One hour passed until the three
set fiasco ended with the Grover's
All-Stars taking first place.
The softball participation
increased by nine teams,
including two new women's
teams.
After pool play and the early
playoffs, the semifinals saw
defending champs Gangsters of

Love overtake Smiling
Assassins, and Lamalia bested
Sig Tau B.
In the final, Gangsters of Love
held off a late rally to win 6-5.
Lamalia had 2 on with 2 outs,
but a fly out ended the drama.
The coed final had Bullfighters

Bullfighters won 8-7 even with
a 3 base error by the right
centcrfielder in the bottom of the
7th. Daleague won the women's
draw.
The Collegian
Kick
Cross country had an increase
of 128 participants over last
year's total of 9.
At the finish line of the 3.1 M
course, firstplace went to Matt
Virtue (18:45), Steve Votg took
second (20 seconds behind), and
Chris Viscuso (21 seconds
behind) finished in third place.
Wendy Ebinger won the
women's division by finishing
22nd overall with a time of
23:22.
In the men's team division,
Gangsters of Love repeated as
champs by blowing away their
closest competition, 3rd Floor
Lawrence.
Fruit Loops won the coed
division and Alpha Sigma Tau
won the women's team class.
The tennis finals are in full
swing. Look for those results on
the IM Board in the Reed
Building.
Look for billiards, bowling and
3-on-3 basketball posters around
campus.
