The Venda-Card saves students
approximately five cents a copy
and according to Bailey the card
pays for itself after about fifty
copies.
Nevertheless, students can’t
understand why they are expected
to pay five cents more on campus
for the same service provided in
the community at a lower rate.
"I think it’s very high, but
everything on campus is fifty
percent higher than average,”
commented Doug Cummings, a
sixth semester plastics major.
"I make copies in there once a
week and end up spending close
to three dollars each time. It adds
up. Students should get a
discount and copies should only
be ten cents because it evenly
divides into a dollar," addec
seventh semester history majoi
Chris Dyne.
Bailey also said that staff anc
clubs don't have to pay as much
for copies. "It's because they are
an academic unit and because they
do research, we have a different
set-up for them.”
Though Bailey said he knows
why students are upset about the
prices, he doesn't see any price
breaks in the future. "There are
no funds available to provide
free service."

Gun Incident

threatened. This case continues to be under investigation and
possible arrests are pending.
Thefts
On Wednesday, October 5, a student reported that $300.00 was
stolen from his locker in the men's locker room in Erie Hall.
The student states that the money was in his jeans pocket,
which was placed in his locker. When the student returned, he
discovered that the money was gone. Students are asked by
Police and Safety to please remember to place a lock on their
lockers while they are at class, or if they leave belongings in
the locker room.
There have also been a number of reports of bathroom tissue
being stolen from campus bathrooms, as well as damage
reported by the janitorial staff to toilet tissue dispensers. Both
of these incidents are under investigation.
