This February charges were
filed with District Justice Peter
Nakoski against a student who
took $1,500 in funds from an
account belonging to a Behrend
student organization.
However, the case never went

the missing funds.

Behrend clubs and organization,
which begs the question: are there
sufficient mechanisms in place to
prevent the misuse of these
funds?
"There is a fiscal policy
manual that guides the
management of all student
organization budgets and each
semester the treasurer and
president of each student
organization meet, at which time
the policies are reviewed,"
explained Dr. Reber, dean of
Student Services.
Reber also said if an
organization wants money for a
particular event, the treasurer
must fill out a Treasury Request
