Last Thursday night a condom machine in a Lawrence Hall men's room was vandalized. The machine was ripped open and its money and condoms were removed. Police and Safety officers later found it in a dumpster. "It was found in a dumpster on campus, and it is still an ongoing investigation relative to the theft of the money and condoms from the machine," said Larry Silvis, Police and Safety manager. "This is a serious matter that we're not going to take lightly." Nancy Warzyniak, RN, Health Center nurse said damage totals around $5OO, including the machine, money and condoms. "It was the student's request for the condom machines to be made available on campus, and we put them in for health reasons because of many prevalent sexually transmitted disease, including the HIV virus," said Warzyniak. "We were very upset over the disrespect that some of the students had for this community property." Warzyniak added, "This a, .. a, Wellness ai.
