This weekend Penn State
Behrend has a full schedule of
activities planned for its annual
Homecoming Weekend.
Homecoming festivities are
designed to be a celebration
bringing together parents,
families, students, and alumni,
according to administrators. Its
purpose is to give everyone the
opportunity to see Behrend at its
best.
"Our hope is to build a
tradition where we can have
alumni, students, families and
parents come to Behrend to enjoy
a weekend of fun-packed
activities," said David Shields,
assistant dean of student services.
"It's a chance to show off the
campus in its normal operation."
The festivities begin on
Friday evening with a Hawaiian
Dinner followed by Bruno's
Night Club Comedy Series
featuring stand-up comedian Al
Fike.
Next is a campus bonfire and
pep rally in support of Behrend's
soccer team. The night ends with
the movie King Ralph, sponsored
by the Student Programming
Council.
Saturday's activities include
campus tours, tours of local
wineries and a Western Barbecue
for lunch.
Saturday afternoon will feature
the men's soccer team in action
against Indiana University of
Pennsylvania. There is also a
Candlelight Dinner planned for
Saturday evening.
