Strike up the band: Students crowd the Wintergarden Wednesday to
hear The Chicago Winds open the 1991-92 "Music at Noon" series. The
series, now in its second year, is designed to break down the barriers that
often surround classical music performances.

There are two schools of
thought on leadership. Some
experts think leaders are born
and naturally rise to the top,
while others say leaders are
made; their skills a product of
their environment.
Believing in the second
theory, the Student
Government Association
sponsored a leadership retreat
this past weekend, called "The
spark that lights the fire."
Planned and organized by
J.J. Scribner, Commuter
Council President, the retreat
covered how members of SGA
could enhance their image on
campus and increase
enthusiasm within the
organization.
Correction
In the Sept. 5 issue of The Collegian, the winners of the recent commuter senator election
were incorrectly identified. The new commuter senators are Paula Holabaugh and Mike
Brenneman.

skills that can make SGA the
best organization on campus."

The schedule included four
different informative sessions
which emphasized education
and leadership, as well as fun
icebreakers such as balloon
football.
The first session, led by
Chris Reber, dean of Student
Services, and Dave Mahoney,
SGA president, covered what
SGA is and what it's supposed
to do for students and Behrend.
The next Session divided
the participants into two
groups. Half went to a
workshop on "Catching people
doing something right," led by
Jason Bates. while the other
half attended a workshop on
creativity and vitality, led by
Mark Owens.
Brain storming, presented
by David Kravitz, gave
