The men's tennis team
dropped a 6-3 decision to Mount
Union last Saturday in their first
match of the young season.
Behrend was victorious in
only one singles match.
Freshman Craig Edwards defeated
his opponent in two sets 7-5, 6-
1. Also in singles play, junior
Chuck Keenan put forth great
effort in an exhausting match.
Keenan lost the first set 4-6, then
came back 7-5 in the second set,
but eventually came up with the
loss.
In doubles action, Behrend
won two of three matches. The
team of Keenan and Keith Stark,
playing at the number one
doubles spot, won 6-4, 4-6, 6-4.
Eric Good and Edwards won 4-6,
6-4, 6-2 at the number two spot.

"Wait, wait!! We might have a problem here ... blast
this metric system'"
Coach Dan Gallegos
comments on the opening match:
"They played excellent. I
think everyone on the team gave
it their all," he said.
Gallegos added the team was
cheering for one another and
supportive for one another right
to the end.
"We played well as a team,"
said Stark. The sophomore also
commented on Mount Union,
"They were a good team. They
were well rounded and had a lot
more experience."
Despite the opening loss, the
coach believes his team is still
very motivated. They are anxious
about their upcoming matches
and positive in their attitudes.
The team travels to Thiel
College next Thursday for
regular-season play.

If you don't have a car, house or first-born to cash in for a pair of tickets, you can still catch
the game on Behrend's own WPSE (AM 1450):
