College and Universities Public Relations
Association of Pennsylvania will issue an award for
$l,OOO. Pick up an application in the Financial Aid
Office. It must be postmarked by Feb. 22.
Junker Leadership Scholarship
applications are now available in the Financial Aid
Office and in the Student Activities Office. The
deadline is March 5.
Native Americans and Canadian Indians
enrolled in 2 MET or 2 EET may apply for $l,OOO
scholarship offered by The Council of Three Rivers
American Indian Center. For more information
contact the Financial Aid Office.
Garden Club Federation of Pa. is
offering scholarships to Pa. residents in agricultural
related fields. The deadline is March 1. For more
information contact the Financial Aid Office.
Commencement for Spring 1991 graduates will
be held on Saturday, May 18, at 12 noon.
Undergraduate caps and gowns are $l4 and must be
ordered from the Bookstore by Monday, April 1.
A Chemical Dependency support group will
begin meeting on Wednesdays from 4 to 6 pm in the
downstairs classroom of Erie Hall. For more

The United Way is seeking Hotline volunteers.
Applicants must be 18 years of age or older, and
must commit to 10 hours/month for one year. For

Lambda Sigma Honor's Society is
beginning its' selection process for membership for

A Math Anxiety Reduction Workshop

Trumpet Soloist, Robert Howard, will be
performing Thursday, Feb. 21, at 8 p.m. in Reed
117. He will be playing selections from the baroque,
classical, and contemporary eras.

applying to PSU Education Abroad Programs for

Over 1500 New Graduates from 31
Western Pennsylvania colleges and universities will
have the opportunity to be interviewed by potential
employers at the Third Annual WestPACS Job Fair
on Thursday, March 7 at the Expo Mart in
Monroeville, PA.
Leading Baritone, Robert Orth, will be
singing selections from Don Quichotte A. Dulcinee
and much more. He will be performing at 8 p.m. on
Thursday Feb. 21 in the Ford Chapel At Allegheny
College. Admission is free.
ABC will be presenting "The Race II: Now and
Forever," which focuses on black history, on
Monday, Feb. 25, in Reed 117 at 8 p.m. Admission
is free.
All Commu 001 students and members of The
Collegian staff must attend the weekly staff meetings
at 8 pm on Thursdays in room 123 of the Science

For many Americans, filing
annual income tax returns can be
a frustrating process. Help is
available, however, for taxpayers
who need assistance completing
the complex tax forms.
Approximately 25 accounting
students from Behrend are
volunteering their services
through the Volunteer Income
Tax Assistance (VITA) program,
a nation-wide system which last
year aided more than one million

more than 10,000 co-dependents,
Caron Family Services' five-day
program serves as a model for
treatment programs evolving

Rings stolen from
Police and Safety officers are
investigating an apparent ring
theft from Erie Hall. A student
reported that she left two rings on
a set of bleachers during class and
could not find them later. The
rings have not been turned into
Lost and Found and officers are
continuing their investigation.

Behrend. "Our student volunteers
are anxious to provide
assistance."
Voss, who spearheads the
Behrend group of VITA, believes
the program provides a valuable
service to the Erie community.
"We are offering a free service
that any taxpayer can take
advantage of, " Voss said.
"Our students have taken
numerous courses in tax and
accounting and have had specific
