doesn't continue.
Behrend went on the road to
Keuka College in upstate New
York to play last Saturday night.
The Lions were defeated in a
close 54-50 match against the
red-hot Keuka squad, who have
won their past 16 games.
Behrend had fallen to the
Warriors earlier in the season at
home by only one point, the
final score 56-55. This set the
stage for their rematch on
Saturday -- which turned into an
almost rerun.
Paulsen's squad had a series of
tough breaks, bad bounces, and
controversial calls from the
officials that cost them the win.
One of their worst nightmares
was the Keuka duo of forwards
Andrew McNeil and Kyle Bower.
Both Bower, a 6'4" junior, and
McNeil, a 6'6" sophomore,
averaged 13 points against the
Lions.
Veteran guard Chris Viscuso
said, "We played a really good
game, they were just on a hot
streak. It could have gone either
way." He added, "We executed'
well, but the ball just wasn't
going in."
Viscuso led team scoring
against the Warriors with 14
points. Byron Thorne and Rich
Buzalka each hadl2 buckets on
the night.
Senior point guard Randy
Baughman said "We played well
on the road against a team that's
won 16 (games) in a row."
Baughman had a total of 11
points on the game.
The Lions , had better luck
against Alfred University earlier
in the week, when they defeated
them 80-76 in a game with
enough suspense to make Agatha
Christie jealous.

Mike Benson/The Collegian
In a single bound: Senior Randy Baughman
soars for the Lions against Keuka.
The lead bounced back-and
forth throughout the rust half. By
the buzzer Behrend was down by
three points, 36-39.
The second half of the game
was highlighted tiy senior point
guard Randy Baughman reaching
a milestone.
With 14:54 left in the second
period, Baughman dished the ball
off to Chris Viscuso who scored
two, bringing the score to
Behrend 51, Alfred 45.
With that, Baughman
notched his 500th assist, the
most in Behrend basketball
history. The ony player to come
close to that figure is Mike
Powell, who made 361 assists

also the high scorer for the game,
with 23 points total.
With Baughman's
achievement, the Lions seemed to
regroup and come out swinging.
"We came out in the second
half and ran our basic man-to
man defense," said Viscuso. "On
offense, we used our five-man
motion-passing strategy. For the
most part, we went back to
basics."
And it worked. The Lions
kept Alfred's high scorers chained
to the floor and kept a
comfortable point cusion between
them until the final buzzer.
