While the first days of the war
have been relatively smooth, the
honeymoon may be over for U.S.
forces and their allies and officials
at home if and when a wound war
develops, according to Dr. Peter
Hahn, associate professor of
history at Behremi and noted
Middle East Watt.
"The war is turning out better
than I expected before it began,"
said Hahn. "The U.S. has had a
couple of fortunate developments

That prediction by Jack
Anderson, a Pulitzer Prize
winning journalist and
nationally syndicated
columnist, was made to a
near-capacity audience in Erie
Hall Tuesday night as he
addressed the war in the Gulf.
Known for his columns
that reveal government secrets
and news-making information,
Anderson spoke on "The
News Behind The News."
Based on reliable sources in
Saudi Arabia, Anderson said
the United States "does not
want to kill Saddam Hussein
