Christmai,Caroling: The Zeta Beta Tau fraternity will be caroling at the Veteran's Administration Hospital at 2 pm on Saturday, December 9. SGA President Stan Washington looks back on his first semester in office by Cristin Hayes Collegian Staff Writer The Student Government Association's greatest accomplishment this year has been the restoration of the Wintergreen Cafe, according to SGA President Stan Washington. SGA senators took the voice of Behrend students to Administrators and encouraged the Cafe to institute a number of price reforms, according to Theft by deception cases reported by Carol Mandera Collegian Staff Writer Three cases involving theft by deception were reported to the Department of Police and Safety on November 30. Initial reports indicate that in each case, false student identification was used to secure a loan. - According to Officer Paul Douglas, an unknown person received a $lOO Bernreuter Emergency Loan from the Financial Aid Office on October 26. The crime was discovered during collection efforts, and campus police are investigating. Two loans, each valued at $4O, were obtained from the Rub Desk in the same manner. Douglas reported that the loans granted on November 2 and November 21. Douglas further indicated that the department considers the two 'cases to be related, even though two different people were involved, because the same false student identification was used A stereo valued at $2OO was stolen from a student's vehicle while it was parked in C Lot on November 30. The student told police he believed he had locked his car. When he returned the stereo which had been mounted on a removable tray, was missing and the car was locked. Douglas said that officers found no evidence of forced entry and no additional damage to the vehicle. Police are continuing the investigation. Icy road conditions at the intersection of Station Road and the main entrance of the campus contributed to two, related accidents on November 29. Douglas reported that a vehicle driven by a student entering the campus from Station Road slid into a car stopped in the main drive at the stop sign. Washington was interviewed by The Collegian and was asked for his views on his first semester in office. Washington said he came into office hoping to bring diversity and untiy into SGA. After three monthes, Washington feels he has accomplished those goals - at least in part. Washington explained he would like to see senators spreading these ideas to The drivers left the vehicles at the scene and reported the accident to the department. When they returned, they discovered that the car hit the first time had been hit again by another driver attempting to enter the campus. Douglas reported that there were no injuries in either of the accidents. The Behrend Bookstore turned four cases involving bad checks over to the campus police for further action on November 29. A second male student was referred on November 20 for disorder by conduct.
