After the April 3 introduction of the program, most smokers were extremely cooperative in smoking outdoors. However, now that an Erie winter is upon the campus, smokers have the cold weather to deal with. Keith Houser, a freshman, sees the policy as relatively fair. "I don't see why professors shouldn't be allowed to smoke in their own offices, but I personally do not mind smoking outside. " The deteriorating weather will "make it worse, but I still agree with the system.
