Lady Netters are
prepared for a .
competitive year

The Lady Lions'•tennis team
is gearing up for a new season
with a solid group of incoming
freshman and a couple of
returning players.
The 'B9 edition. consists of
seven members, including three
sophomores and four freshman.
There are only two returnees from
last years squad.
The team strength this year is
balance, while the weakness is
their lack of experience.
Mike Grignol will be the
head coach for his second season.
Coach Grignol's goal for the
team is, "Being competitive with
every match we're in."
When asked about the
freshmen on this years team,
Grignol says, "The freshmen will
be toward the top of the line-up.
They have very good potential." •
Grignol added, "They have
been coming to practices
regularly (4:00-5:30 everyday)."

The number one seeded player
for the team this year is freshman
Melissa Clark. Clark, a graduate
of nearby McDowell High
School, has played varsity tennis
since ninth grade. •
"The freihinen will
be toward the top of
the line-up. They
have very good
potential."

Clark said, "I wish more
people would think about coming
out for the team." This
_does not
mean the freshman does not have
confidence in the team. "With the
team we have now, we can give
other schools a good challenge."
She further stressed that "We
hope to improve our record from
last year."
