St. Albans, Vt., Jan. 20th, 1880. DR. J. B. KENDALL ft CO., Gents: In reply to your letter I will say that my experience with Kendall's Spavin Cure has been very satisfactory Indeed. Three or fouryears ago I procured a bot tle of your agent, aud with it, cured a horse of lameness caused by Spavin. Last season my horse became very lame and I turned him out for a few weeks when he became better, but when I put him on the road he grew worse, when I dis coveredthata ring-bone was forming, I procured a bottle of Kendall's Huavln Cure, and with less than a bottle cured him so that be is not lame, neither can the bunch be found. Respectfully yours, P. N. GRANGER. Perseverance W ill Tell I Stoughton, Mass., March lfini, 1880. B.J. The horse Is entirely well, not at all stiff, and no bunch to be seen or felt. This Is a wonderful medicine. It Is a new thing here, but If It does for all what It has done for me Its sale will be very great. Respectfully yours, CHAS. E.PARKER. A woman of flfty, made up to look about twenty-five years old, got aboard at a crossing to find every seat occupied. ' She stood for ft moment, and then selected a poorly dresoed man about forty-five years of age. She observed : "Are there no gentlemen ou this car." " Indeed, I dunno," he replied, as he looked up and down. "If there hain't and you are going clear through, I'll hunt up one for you at the end of the line." There was an embarrassing silence for a moment, and then a light broke In ou him all of a sudden, and he arose and said : " You can have this seat, madam. I am alius perfectly willing to stand up and give my seat to anybody older than myself." That decided her. She gave him a look which he will not forget to his dying day, and grabbing the strap she refused to sit down, even when five seats bad become vacant. Did you hear of the case up on Market street V" said Barber to Brewer, when they met at the postofflce this morning. "No; what about it '(" In quired Brewer, interested. " Why," said Barber, " a man lay there in the house nine days before the family would bury him. Had the funeral yesterday." " By gracious" said Brewer, " that's an outrage. Why didn't they bury him before? superstition V" "No; not exact ly that, " and Barber slowly drew Brewer's ear down toward his mouth. " That was not It. He wasn't dead." J""Now, children," said a Sunday school superintendent, who had been talking to his scholars about good people, " when I am walking in the street, I speak to some persons I meet, and I don't speak to others ; and what is the reason V" He expected the reply would be, " Because some are good and others are bad," but, to his discomfiture, the general shout was, " Because some are rich and others are poor." '"Pretty nice thing In your paper this morning," said Fogg to the editor of The Matutinal Marauder. "Yes," said the editor Inquiringly, his face lighting up with a glow of pleasure. " I suppose you refer to my leader on the situation?" Fogg shook hia head. " Or, perhaps it was that neat paragraph about the Bungton railroad V " No," said Fogg, " it was a pound of beefsteak that I took home for breakfast. Nicest thing I ever saw in the Marauder, 'pon honor." . C3TA lady of the (esthetic school went up to a gentleman at a swell party and asked, "What Is parting?" And it happened that just at that moment he had come to realize that his suspenders were breaking and he thought it awful queer that she should know that any thing was parting. But he bluntly answered, " My suspenders, ma'am," and then she screamed aud mere was his Satanic Majesty to pay. 3T After the previous question had been called, and the ayes and noes order ed, in the Texas Legislature, a member rose and said : " My friends, I beg that for a moment you will lend me your ears, and-" " Order!" cried the Speaker; no one can lend his ears here till the ayct and noes have been taken." tgT" I wonder if the time will ever come when water will stop running down-hill!" exclamed an old gentle man. " Yes, uncle," responded a little girl ; " the water'll always stop when it gets to the bottom of the hill." C2"Geu. Lee, is said to have asked a straggler of the rebel army whom he found eating green persimmons, if he did not know they were unfit for foo. "I'm not eating them for food, General," replied the man, "I'm eating them to draw up my stomach to tit my rations." fjy Mable (aged twenty,) to Edith (aged five.) "There, Edith, do stop hugging me; you'll hug me to death." " Y'ou didn't talk that way to Charley Brown t'other evening, and he weighs ever so much more as I," replied the child. CJTAn Oil City man purchased a small hand bellows, took it home and told his wife he had concluded to blow his brains out, whereupon Bhe replied that a small er sized bellows would have answered the purpose better. GTlt was a negro who acknowledged after a short but tempestuous voyage at sea that he was a land lubber. He said he lubbed it so-well that he never wanted to go to sea again, for sure.
