DR. J. B. KENDALL CO.. Gents: In reply
to your letter I will say that my experience wlui
Kendall's Spavin Cure has been vory satisfactory
Indeed. Three or fouryears ago I prooured a bot
tle of your agent, and with It, cured a horse ot
lameness caused by Spavin, Last season my
horse became very lame and I turned him out for
a few weeks when he became better, but when I
put him on the road he grew worse, when I dis
covered that a ring-bone was forming, 1 procured
a bottle of Kendall's Suavin Cure, and with less
than a bottle cured him so that be is not lame,
neither can the bunch be found.

have removed TWO BONE SPAVINS with Ken

know how long the Spavin had been there. I
have owned the horse eight mouths. It took me
four months to take the large one olf, and two
months for the small one. 1 have used 10 bottles.
The horse Is eDtlrely well, not at all stiff, and no
bunch to be seen or felt. This Is a wonderful
medicine. It Is a new thing here, but If It does
for all what it has done for me its sale will be very
great. Respectfully yours,

Couldn't See The Joke.
Some time ago, a patent-medlclne
man ot St. Louis wrote a confidential
letter to a young man in this city, re
questing hltn to send the name of all
the very fat men of Little Rock. The
young man, with a full appreciation of
a happy plan suddenly struck upon
sent the names of all the very lean men
In town. The effect was very decisive.
A short time afterward, a prominent
lawyer, whose leanness has ever been a
subject of remark, received a letter
which read :
"Dear Blr Our American anti-fat
remedy will whittle the stomach from
you In six days. Bend us twenty-five
cents."
The letter was . thrown aside, not
without a few expressions of ingrati
tude. The next mall brought another letter,
with the following contents :
"Dear Blr If you have decided to
surrender your obesity, send us the
twenty-five cents."
By this time the gentleman Was
warm. He cursed all the patent medi
cine men in the world. Several days
after this a boy came to the office and
handed the lawyer a letter. On the
envelope was written. "Opened by
mistake, Miss Jackson." The lawyer
took the letter and read :
"Dear Sir We are sorry your ab
domlnal protuberance is giving you so
much trouble. This Is your own fault,
for our American anti-fat will act like
a drawing knife in whittling you
down."
The lawyer sat for fifteen minutes in
deep meditation. He was disturbed by
the entrance of a lean minister, who
drew a letter from his pocket, and,
handing it to the lawyer, remarked:
" I don't understand this." The letter
read thus :" Dear Blr Don't feel that
you are always to be a burden to your
self. We can boll off your stomach
until you'll be as trim as a racer. Mr.
, a prominent lawyer of your city.
who, as you know, is a perfect mountain
of flesh, is being treated by us,"
The lawyer didn't say a word, but
when the minister had gone He address
ed the following letter to the Bt. Louis
doctor : " If you ever send me another
one of your diabolical documents, I'll
stick a six-shooter down your throat
and Are every shot into your infernal
stomach." The doctor has stopped
writing.
' Amazing Grace."
The following is vouched for by one
of the most reliable of Philadelphia di
vines: A young clergyman having agreed to
supply the pulpit of an older brother
absent from home, escorted to church
the daughter of the pastor, and after
seeing her safely In her father's pew, as
cended to the pulpit, unconscious that
his natural attention to a young lady
was sufficient to excite lively imagina
tions and inquiries in the audience.
Upon reading the hymn to be sung,
the young clergyman was surprised to
perceive evident efforts in the congrega
tion to suppress laughter. The daugh
ter of his friend possessed the mellifioua
name of Grace, and, all unconscious of
that fact, he had chosen (he hymn be.
ginning with the words " Amazing
grace," and proceeded with :
Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears relieved.
Bow precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed I
" Through many dangers, toils and snares .
I have already come ;
'Tls grace has bronght me safe thus far,
And grace will lead roe home !"
s" " Yls, yer rlverence, all thlm
names he called me, an', ses I, " I
wouldn't demane nieself to lose me Una
per wld such a low blackguard," sol
just knocked him over wld a stick and
come away."
CJ" Elderly gentleman to a Freshman
on the train: "You don't have any
ticket?" "No, I travel on my good
looks." "Then, after looking him
over, "probably you ain't going very
far." ; ' ' '
3" A young lady of Hartford, who is
partly deaf, Is in the habit of answering
" yes " to everything when a gentleman
is talking to her, for fear he might
propose to her and she not hear it.
tlT Why is a pig la a parlor like a
house on fire? Because the sooner he is
put out the better.
0" A man says the reason he does
not marry is, that his house is not large
enough to contain the consequences.
