From Iter. N. P. Urnngcr,
Presiding Elder or the St. Albans District.
St. Albans, Vt.. Jan. 2'Jth, 1850.
DR. J. D. KENDALL & CO., Gents; In rep'y
to your letter I will say that my experience with
Kendall's Spavin Cure has been vory satisfactory
Indeed. Three or fourears ago I procured a bot
tle of your agent, and with It, cured a horse of
lameness caused by Spavin. Last season my
horse became very lame and I turned ill in out for
a few weeks when be became better, but when I
put him on the road he grew worse, when I dis
covered that a rins bene was forming. I procured
a bottle of Kendall's S lavlu Cure, aud with less
than a bottle cured him so that he Is not lame,
neither can the bunch be found.
Respectfully yours.
P. N. GRANGER.
Perseverance Will Tell !

B.J. Kendall & Co., Gents: In Justice to you
and myself, I think 1 ought to let you know that I
have removed TWO BONK SPAVINS with Ken
dall's Spavin Cure," one very large one: don't
know how long the Spavin had been there. I
have owned the horse eight months. It took me
four months to take the large one off, and two
months for the small one 1 have used 10 bottles.
The horse Is entirely well, not at all stiff, and no
bunch to be seen or felt. This 1 a wonderful
medicine. It is a new thing here, but if it does
for all what It has done for me its sale will be very
great. Respectfully yours,
C II AS. E.PARKER.

A Queer Christening.
A Savannah correspondent bas been
visiting a colored Methodist Church
down south. The minister read the
first line of a well known hymn, "God
moves in a mischievous way," Instead
of " mysterious," and a later, line
"Judge not the Lord by feeble saints,"
instead of " sense." It was commu
nion Sunday, and they took up a col
lection. For three quarters of an hour
they sang and danced, while the people
deposited tbeir nickles very slowly, for
they have little money and less confi
dence in those that receive it. At length
the minister became impatient, and
shouted : " We has got to raise $5 mo',
an1 1 tell ye now, ye won't get a mite o'
sacrament till ye've raised it," and the
$5 were forthcoming. After the com
munion service came the baptizing of
infants. When one mother was asked
what the child's name was, "Cuffy Aus
tin," was the answer. " Cufly!" ex
claimed the minister, with some anger ;
" What do you gib your chile such a
name as dat for V CutTy ain't no name
'toll! Don t neber gib a chile no such
nickname; he'll be 'shamed on it as
soon as he knows anything." Again
he Inquired the name, and the woman
was mad, and flung out: ," Cuffy Aus
tin I" The pastor took the child in hla
arms, sprinkled some water on its head,
and said : " I baptize thee, Cuffy Aus
tin, in ignorance," and that wa all the
christening that baby received.
