Thursday night last while they were trying

reoognized by detectives as the son of a
wealthy merchant at Toledo, and not a

ern part of Erie county in a peculiar man

the democratic ward meeting in the Fifth
ward Phila., on Tuesday morning a row
occii'-red. Policemen attempted to arrest
Bernnrd Reily when four Bbots were fired
and Kelly fell. He was taken to the Peun
sylvania hospital but died on the way. T.
J. Ryan, residing at 605 south Front street
and Geo. Trentwith, living at 740 south
none street, were arrested and gave a
hearing. Ryan was committed without
bail, and Trentwith was held in $1,500
bail for a futher hearing.
tW A dispatch from Fremont, Ohio says
that late on Saturday, night Andrew Koeh
el and James Welch were arrested for the
murder of a man who was found dead near
that place on May 21, 1878. Tho body was
found by the road-side with a bullet-hole
through the head, and a revolver iu its
hand. In a memorandum-book iu the
pocket was written, "I am tired of life,
bury me here." Facts since revealed, led
to detectives being employed, aud the dis
covery of evidence which leaves little doubt
of its being a case of robbery and murder,
and points to the guilt of both the parties
arrested.
